Matrox QuadHead2Go Q185 est un contrôleur de mur d’images autonome, fait pour répartir un seul signal sur quatre écrans sans dépendre d’un PC précis. Il accepte une entrée DisplayPort 1.2 jusqu’à 3840×2160 à 60 Hz (dont des formats ultra-larges comme 7680×1080) et délivre quatre sorties HDMI synchronisées, pour piloter un 2×2 comme une surface unique tout en gardant chaque dalle parfaitement calée, en portrait comme en paysage.
En production live, régie TV, plateau streaming ou salle de contrôle, le Q185 sert d’interface stable entre une station graphique et l’affichage : la gestion des bordures aligne les textes et bandeaux, tandis que la rotation par sortie (90/180/270°), le recadrage et la mise à l’échelle facilitent les assemblages en portrait, les ratios atypiques ou les murs « ruban ». Les configurations préréglées (2×2, 4×1, 1×4, 3×1, 2×1, 1×2, 1×3) se rappellent rapidement, utile pour passer d’une mosaïque de monitoring à une grande image scénique. Le mode clone et le « bureau étendu » s’intègrent avec multiviewers, serveurs de replay et PCs de diffusion.
Pour un rendu propre, l’appareil accepte des entrées RGB 8:8:8 et YUV 4:4:4/4:2:2, puis sort en RGB 8:8:8 pour une typographie nette. La prise en charge HDCP permet d’afficher des sources protégées, et l’audio embarqué peut être transmis en AAC ou PCM (stéréo/mono) selon l’installation.
Le déploiement est rapide : boutons en façade et images de test intégrées aident à vérifier l’ordre des écrans et le câblage avant même de brancher la source. Via Gigabit Ethernet, configuration et mises à jour se font à distance, en DHCP ou en IP fixe. Le logiciel gratuit Matrox PowerWall apporte un réglage hors-ligne et un positionnement précis, et les intégrateurs peuvent demander une option REST API pour automatiser profils et interfaces — un atout pour la signalétique, les studios et les installations événementielles répétables.
