Au sein de la gamme Pro Capture de Magewell, la Pro Capture Mini SDI occupe une place à part : c'est la plus petite carte capable d'acquérir un signal SD/HD/3G-SDI complet. Sa carte de 30 × 51 mm se connecte via un slot Mini PCIe Gen2 x1, ce qui la rend adaptée aux appareils embarqués, serveurs rack compacts et machines d'ingest sur mesure. Deux connecteurs MMCX — livrés avec un câble adaptateur vers BNC — offrent une entrée SDI et une sortie SDI loop-through, permettant d'alimenter un moniteur ou un mélangeur en aval pendant l'acquisition.
Le FPGA embarqué traite chaque pixel en profondeur 10 bits, couvrant les normes SD, HD, 3Ga, 3Gb, 3Ga-DL, 3Gb-DS ainsi que le mode 2K (2048 × 1080). L'échantillonnage couleur atteint RGB 4:4:4, YCbCr 4:4:4 et YCbCr 4:2:2 jusqu'à 12 bits, et l'égaliseur de câble intégré assure une réception fiable sur environ 330 m en SD-SDI, 190 m en HD-SDI et 150 m en 3G-SDI. La latence se limite à 64 lignes vidéo — un chiffre déterminant lors des retours caméra en direct ou des incrustations graphiques en temps réel.
Jusqu'à 8 canaux audio mono à 48 kHz sont extraits du flux SDI embarqué, accompagnés du timecode et des données de sous-titrage. Une horloge matérielle de 100 ns estampille chaque trame, garantissant la synchronisation lèvres-voix lorsque plusieurs cartes fonctionnent en parallèle. Chaque entrée génère un nombre illimité de flux de capture simultanés, chacun paramétrable en résolution, cadence et colorimétrie — une seule carte alimente un enregistrement OBS, une sortie vMix et un flux Wirecast simultanément.
Les pilotes couvrent Windows, Linux et macOS (y compris ARM), exposant la carte via DirectShow, DirectKS, V4L2, ALSA, AVCaptureSession et AudioUnit.
