Osprey Video MVS016 16x16

Osprey Video MVS016 combines a 16x16 3G-SDI matrix with a 16-channel SDI multiviewer in a compact 1U rackmount frame. Sixteen 3G-SDI inputs route to sixteen 3G-SDI outputs through non-blocking crosspoints, while signals remain accurate with embedded audio and ancillary data preserved. For monitoring, the unit exposes dual 3G-SDI multiview outputs in parallel with HDMI. Full-size BNC I/O totals thirty-four connectors for sources, destinations and multiview.

The router handles SD/HD/3G-SDI with automatic rate detect and compliance to SMPTE 259M/292M/296M/352M/424M. Format coverage includes 525i59.94, 625i50, 720p23.98–60, 1080p23.98–60, 1080psf, and 1080i50/59.94/60. RGB 4:4:4 and YUV 4:2:2 / 4:4:4 sampling are supported. Multiview outputs reach 1080p60 (also 1080p24/25/30/50, 1080i50/60, 720p50/60) for walls in control rooms & OB racks. Auto detection covers Level A with pass-through of up to sixteen embedded audio channels and all ancillary data.

Monitoring is precise and configurable: select from 20 multiview layouts, toggle audio level meters, on-screen UMD/text IDs, timecode and input format readouts. Any stereo pair from the sixteen SDI sources can be embedded to the multiview program for audible supervision. Full-screen takeovers and source-to-window assignment are available from the front panel, with flexible label colors, audio alarms and overlay controls for operator clarity.

Operational control spans the front-panel keypad, Ethernet software (DHCP or static IP) and RS-422. Keypad lockout avoids unintended routes. Power redundancy arrives via dual 6–24 V DC inputs; two supplies ship in the box, and typical draw is 24 W. With non-destructive signal handling and an integrated SDI router plus multiviewer, the Osprey MVS016 fits broadcast studios, flypacks, mobile trucks and live streaming facilities needing dependable routing and unified monitoring across workflows.
