Osprey Video MVS016 16x16 SDI Switcher

The Osprey Video MVS-16 seamlessly integrates a 16-channel SDI multiviewer with a 16x16 matrix switcher, providing a comprehensive solution for complex video monitoring and routing needs. Housed in a 1U rackmount chassis, it features 16 3G-SDI inputs and 16 3G-SDI outputs, all utilizing full-size BNC connectors, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of professional broadcast equipment.

This device supports various SDI video rates, including 3G, HD, and SD, and adheres to standards such as SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 352M, and 424M. It accommodates multiple video formats, including 525i 59.94 NTSC, 625i 50 PAL, 720p at frame rates from 23.98 to 60 Hz, 1080p from 23.98 to 60 Hz, 1080psf, and 1080i at 50, 59.94, and 60 Hz.

The MVS-16 offers 20 customizable multiview layouts, allowing users to monitor input channels effectively. Features such as audio level bars, text overlays, and video format information can be enabled and tailored for each channel. For multiview monitoring, it provides dual 3G-SDI outputs and a parallel HDMI output, supporting resolutions up to 1080p at 60 Hz.

Control options include front panel operation, Ethernet, and RS422, offering flexibility in various operational environments. The integrated status display enhances user experience by providing real-time system information. Lockout functionality prevents unintended switching, maintaining system integrity during critical operations.

The MVS-16 ensures the pass-through of all embedded audio and ancillary data, preserving the integrity of the original signals. Users can embed audio into the multiview output by selecting a stereo pair from any of the 16 SDI inputs, enhancing audio monitoring capabilities.

For reliability, the device includes redundant 6-24V DC power inputs, with two power supplies provided, ensuring continuous operation in mission-critical applications.
