AVMATRIX SHARK S8X-NDI is a portable 8-channel production switcher that consolidates multi-camera routing, monitoring and IP contribution in a single control surface. It ingests 8× 3G-SDI and 2× HDMI sources (up to 4K60 on HDMI), with REF in/out for tri-sync or black burst timing. SDI processing is specified as 10-bit 4:2:2; HDMI accepts RGB/YUV with selectable full/limited range. Program outputs are available as 2× HDMI PGM and 4× SDI PGM, plus an HDMI multiview output for PVW/PGM and source status. A USB-A UVC port can ingest a computer feed, and USB-C UVC provides capture output.
For network delivery, the LAN interface supports RTMP/RTMPS, SRT, RTSP and HTTP pull, while the NDI variant adds NDI|HX3 transport for reception and distribution inside NDI-based facilities. The routable AUX input can be assigned to media playback, a UVC camera or a network pull stream (including NDI), so adding remote guests, clip rolls, confidence feeds or a backup line does not consume camera inputs.
Look-building stays fast under pressure. Up to 6 overlay layers can be stacked, including 3 upstream keys that can be allocated to chroma key, luma key or PiP, plus DSK and a logo overlay with position/size control. Switching can be driven via T-bar, cut or auto transitions, and 20 macros store repeatable sequences. Audio covers 10-channel mixing with AFV, 2× XLR/TRS balanced inputs with +48 V phantom power, 3.5 mm line input, and up to 500 ms audio delay for lip-sync management.
Capture and archiving can stay on the switcher. Record 1080p60 to SD, USB storage or a SATA SSD in the 2.5-inch (63.5 mm) form factor, in MP4/TS at up to 32 Mb/s with CBR/VBR. The USB-C UVC output can also deliver RGB32/YUY2/NV12 up to 1080p60 to OBS Studio, vMix, Teams or Zoom. Add DB-26 tally and integrated PTZ control (VISCA, ONVIF, Pelco D/P and NDI) for corporate events, houses of worship, esports, lecture capture, webinar studios and flypack productions.
