AVMATRIX TB-C42 brings four independent HDMI 1.4 inputs into a Thunderbolt-based ingest station for crews that need several Full HD sources on one computer without moving to an internal PCIe chassis. Each channel supports signals up to 1080p60, with 48 kHz / 24-bit audio and support for REC.601 and REC.709. Capture can be handled in YUY2 and RGB, which matters in studio recording, lecture capture, esports feeds, church production and multi-camera webcast setups where clean signal acquisition takes priority over compressed shortcuts.

Two 40 Gb/s high-speed ports handle data, video, power delivery and daisy-chain connection, so the unit fits neatly into a laptop-based control position or a compact rack-side capture point. A DisplayPort 1.4 output adds a direct path for an external display, and the USB 3.1 Gen 2 port lets operators keep storage or control accessories attached to the same station. In practical use, that means a producer can ingest four HDMI cameras for a panel discussion, keep a local screen on the desk, and still connect fast peripherals without turning the capture rig into a cable problem.

AVMATRIX TB-C42 also suits mixed source rooms where cameras share space with media players, TV boxes or game consoles. Manufacturer-listed device support covers Xbox, PS4, Switch, video players and media boxes, so the unit can serve test benches, reviewer sets, training rooms and live demo environments as easily as a broadcast prep station. OBS, vMix, XSplit, Wirecast, VLC and other DirectShow/V4L2 software can see the hardware under Windows and Linux, which keeps integration straightforward for capture, streaming, archiving or program monitoring.

Long sessions matter just as much as connectivity. The enclosure uses active cooling for stable 24/7 operation, power draw stays at 12 W, and PD support reaches up to 60 W on the compatible port. For control rooms, portable flypacks and edit suites that need four-channel HDMI ingest with serious bandwidth and broad software support, this is a focused capture platform with room for real production tasks.
