DZOFilm Vespid Prime 125mm T2.1 PL & EF (VV/FF) is a long telephoto cine prime for full-frame and Vista Vision sensors, delivering a T2.1 aperture for consistent exposure control and shallow depth separation on large formats. The lens covers a 46.5 mm image circle, matching modern cinema cameras while retaining a compact build for gimbals, handheld rigs, and multi-camera setups used in broadcast, streaming and narrative production.

The optical block uses 10 elements in 8 groups with a 16-blade iris that shapes round, stable bokeh across the stop range. Breathing is tightly controlled, helping maintain composition during pulls. Focus rotation is 270° and the iris offers 84°, both with 0.8 MOD cine gears for follow-focus motors or FIZ systems. Close focus sits at 0.79 m (2.6 ft) from the sensor plane, giving clean detail for portraits, tabletop and product frames without diopters. The lens communicates no electronics, ensuring reliable, repeatable mechanical marks for ACs who line up racks by tape.

This Vespid ships in PL with an EF bayonet included, so crews can swap mounts to suit bodies from digital cinema to DSLR and mirrorless via adapters. A front M77 thread supports screw-in filtration; matte-box work remains straightforward thanks to standard gear positions across the Vespid family. Color is consistent across focal lengths for uniform grading in multi-lens packages, with a gentle micro-contrast that preserves skin tone detail while keeping highlights under control. For studios, live-video teams and television units requiring fast turnaround, the 125 mm focal length isolates subjects at distance without teleconverter artifacts, and the T2.1 stop holds exposure under controlled light or practicals. The result is a robust full-frame tool that balances speed, mechanics and image character for professional pipelines from on-set to post. Suits HDR pipelines.

Relatively small and lightweight, the DZOFilm VESPID 125mm T2.1 Lens is part of the VESPID series of lenses from DZOFilm and is well suited for independent and high-end full-frame cinematography. The lens has an 80mm front diameter, allowing it to work with virtually any cine-style matte box. The small size makes this lens an attractive option when working with drones and gimbals, as well as when shooting handheld or run-and-gun. The interchangeable PL mount and included EF mount allow you to use the fully manual lens on a variety of modern and vintage cine cameras, while the full-frame coverage supports sensors that have an image circle up to 46.5mm for use on cameras with sensors up to full-frame without vignetting.

The 16-blade iris, which is consistent throughout the VESPID prime lens lineup, creates round out-of-focus highlights that have a more natural appearance and contribute to the lens's natural-looking bokeh. The focus ring features 270° of rotation for precise focus pulls, and the iris ring has a generous 84° of rotation. Cine-style gear rings on the focus and iris rings make the lens compatible with cine-style lens accessories such as follow focus units, lens motors, and lens control systems.
