The 25.92 × 21.6 mm image circle fills ALEXA 35, RED V-RAPTOR and S35+, while the constant 2× squeezedelivers 2.66 : 1 (4 : 3) or 2.4 : 1 (6 : 5) without sensor crop. Proprietary cylindrical blocks yield a vivid blue horizontal flare yet keep contrast intact, and the 29.1° × 12.3° field of view remains accurate throughout the throw, giving pleasing compression for dialogue, beauty or product frames.

Inside, 18 elements arranged in 14 groups sustain high MTF at T2 and suppress lateral chroma. A 10-blade diaphragm sculpts smooth oval bokeh, and squeeze fidelity eliminates the “mumps” distortion common in anamorphics. Close focus is 0.99 m, letting operators capture tight facial textures without auxiliary diopters, while optical breathing is negligible—vital for convergent multi-camera LED-wall installations.

Dual 0.8 MOD gear rings echo the rest of the Proteus line, keeping motor positions identical for lens swaps. A generous 300° focus rotation enables frame-accurate pulls, and a 60° iris throw allows fractional T-stop rides. Internal focusing preserves the static 114 mm front diameter, safeguarding gimbal balance, and the 105 mm filter thread accepts diopters or variable NDs. On-body back-focus adjustment lets assistants retune collimation in seconds after mount changes or optical filtration.

The hard-anodised barrel measures 238 mm × 116 mm and weighs 2.8 kg, balanced for 15 mm LWS or studio rods. Colour, flare and breathing match the 28–85 mm Proteus primes, so edits between focal lengths stay seamless.
