Laowa Proteus 35 mm T2 2× Anamorphic S35 (Silver Flare, PL + EF mount) delivers a constant 2× squeeze through its 300° focus travel, generating 2.66 : 1 on 4 : 3 and 2.4 : 1 on 6 : 5 sensors. The Ø25.9 mm Super 35+ image circle covers ARRI ALEXA 35 and RED V-RAPTOR; an optional 1.4× expander unlocks full-frame coverage. Neutral silver flare treatment keeps highlight colour faithful, avoiding blue or amber bias.

The optical block houses 17 elements in 14 groups that tame lateral chroma and coma. A fast T2 pupil eases ISO pressure, while the 10-blade iris closes steplessly to T22, shaping elongated oval bokeh. 0.55 m close focus enables tight shots with minimal breathing, and the horizontal field reaches 73°—wide enough for master scenes yet virtually distortion-free.

Cine ergonomics mirror every Proteus prime: twin 0.8 MOD gears in identical positions, a stainless ARRI PL shank with tool-free Canon EF swap, plus a rear back-focus ring for rapid collimation.
