Roland V-80HD is a compact direct streaming switcher for professional live production. An 8-channel architecture accepts four HDMI and four SDI sources, with two HDMI inputs able to take 4K signals and downscale to Full HD while providing through connections for parallel feeds. Flexible outputs form a matrix: three HDMI, two SDI, plus USB-C for UVC streaming and LAN for RTMP/SRT delivery—each assignable to ten buses for HD program, sub-program, multiview and auxiliaries. A 4.3-inch (10.9 cm) LCD, illuminated cross-point buttons and a T-bar support operation in trucks, flypacks and control rooms.

The V-80HD processes video with a five-layer effects engine: split screen, two PinP windows with keying, and one DSK with HDMI fill/key. Layer states can be addressed independently per Program, Sub-Program and two Aux outputs, enabling simultaneous mixes for IMAG, streaming and record. The onboard SDXC recorder captures H.264 MP4 at the stream bitrate; stills store holds graphics for stingers and slates. An assignable SRT input lets you cut IP feeds alongside local HDMI/SDI sources.

Audio is handled by a 28-channel mixer with 48 kHz/16-bit processing, mic/line combo inputs with +48 V phantom power, and stereo RCA. Embed/de-embed across HDMI/SDI, apply dynamics and vocal tools, and stabilize loudness with Auto Gain Control. Three audio mix buses simplify parallel delivery for webcast, venue PA and clean-feed record.

Workflow features speed single-operator shows: 32 scene memories, 100 macros and a sequencer that chains up to 1000 cues. Built-in PTZ control works with Canon, JVC, Panasonic, Sony, PTZOptics and Avonic over VISCA-over-IP (up to eight cameras). Remote software for macOS/Windows and the iPad app (USB, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) offers extended control and monitoring, while Graphics Presenter supplies animated lower-thirds, scoreboards and titles via a single HDMI fill/key.

Multiple Video Inputs
The V-80HD features versatile input connectivity with HDMI for common A/V devices and SDI for long cable runs and high-end cameras. Eight total channels are available, enabling seamless switching for up to four HDMI and four SDI input sources. Two 4K HDMI inputs are equipped with downscalers and the ability to send parallel connections to gaming consoles at eSports events. Additionally, an SRT input can be assigned to a cross-point button together with an SDI and HDMI input.

Versatile Video Outputs and Flexible Routing
With its multiple assignable outputs—including two SDI and three HDMI video outputs, a USB-C streaming output, and LAN (RTMP/SRT)—the V-80HD puts a high-end video matrix at your command. Each output can be assigned to 10 buses, allowing you to feed program displays, auxiliary monitors, multi-view producer displays, and online audiences all at once.

Powerful Video Effects Engine
The V-80HD is filled with tools to elevate presentations with impressive video effects and graphics. The onboard effects engine features five composition layers that include a split-screen effect, two PinP windows with key composition, and one DSK with fill/key composite support. It’s simple to create common layouts, such as a business presentation with an individual speaker, image slides, and a title on a background. PinP and DSK layers can be managed individually on the Program, Sub-Program, and two Aux outputs, providing flexibility for any production need.

Professional Graphics Made Easy
The Graphics Presenter software for Windows allows you to create stunning titles and graphics without the need for expensive third-party graphic presentation solutions. Setup with the V-80HD is quick and straightforward, requiring only a single HDMI connection to send fill and key signals from the computer to the switcher.

Graphics Presenter offers an intuitive workflow with a wide selection of ready-to-edit templates, including animated title text, sports scores, motion graphics, and more. The software and templates are available free of charge, and additional content is periodically provided for download on Roland Cloud.

Plug-and-Play Streaming
The V-80HD uses the same connection technology as webcams, providing a plug-and-play streaming experience. Simply connect the USB-C output to a computer or smartphone and start streaming with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or any platform that can use a webcam as its source. LAN connectivity is also supported, allowing you to stream directly to YouTube, Facebook Live, Twitch, or any RTMP platform without a computer.

Secure AV Transmission with SRT
The V-80HD supports SRT (Secure Reliable Transport), an open-source standard for AVoIP that provides secure encrypted audio and video transmission over IP networks. It also offers future-proof connectivity within installed system configurations. SRT allows you to seamlessly extend your V-80HD production capabilities via LAN or an internet connection. Access camera images from remote locations and switch them along with local HDMI and SDI sources. And send a dedicated SRT video output to an external destination, such as another building at the production location.
SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) is an open-source video transport protocol and technology stack developed by Haivision.

SDXC Card Recording
With the VR-80HD’s onboard recorder, you can easily capture an event to an SDXC card and provide your client with an H.264 MP4 video file* for their editing and distribution needs. Stereo WAV audio can also be recorded independently for podcasts and other audio-driven media. It’s even possible to capture still images to internal memory from any video output bus and save them to the card for later use.
*The recording bitrate is the same as the livestream encoding bitrate.

PTZ Camera Support
Robotic PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras greatly expand production capabilities, offering extended coverage with studio-grade broadcast quality. And thanks to their small size, they can be placed in discreet locations where larger cameras aren’t practical.

The V-80HD includes built-in control support for select Canon, JVC, Panasonic, Sony, PTZOptics, Avonic, and VISCA-compatible PTZ LAN cameras. Mix and match different brands and operate up to 8 PTZ cameras simultaneously. The V-80HD Remote iPad App is an ideal companion for PTZ operation, providing remote camera controls and video monitoring from the tablet.

Rapid Workflow with Scenes and Macros
Storing and recalling custom looks can be accomplished with just a few button presses on the V-80HD. The 32 scene memories and powerful effects engine work together to provide seamless scene changes, including synchronizing the transition of all composition layers at the program output. The 100 macros go even deeper, allowing you to build and fire off complex action lists that include switching, DSK on/off, audio mixing adjustments, PTZ camera movements, and much more.

Our free remote control software for macOS, Windows, and iPad further enhances this workflow, providing a large graphical interface for setting up and previewing actions before you take them live.

Sequencing Magic
The V-80HD’s sequencer makes scenes and macros even more powerful, allowing a single operator to execute perfectly timed cues with ease. You can record up to 1000 steps, and each step can include both scenes and macros. Streamline your productions by setting up cues ahead of time in the sequence list and triggering them in order using the Next button on the panel.

Professional Audio Mixing and Effects
The V-80HD features 28 channels of audio mixing plus a wide selection of processing tools, I/O routing options, and automation features. Enhance sounds with ready-to-use effects, including high-quality vocal processing and a useful Loudness Gain function to manage levels while streaming. With the onboard Audio Player, it’s simple to integrate dedicated music and sound effects into every production. Three output buses are available, ready to support complex routing needs for streaming events and studio recording configurations.

Customizable Control Pads
Eight user-assignable pads give you quick control of many V-80HD functions. The pads are organized into eight banks, providing direct access to 64 different operations. Call up scenes, macros, and sequencer steps, trigger audio and video clips, start/stop streams, and more. It’s even possible to control functions in the Graphics Presenter software when the host computer is connected to the V-80HD via USB.

NEW Seamless Control Integration with the Yamaha DM3 Series
The Yamaha DM3 is a next-generation digital audio mixer series used by many professionals. The V-80HD (Version 1.1 or later) supports control integration with these products, enabling more efficient operation by a small team or a single user.

DM3 scene memories can be operated from the V-80HD, streamlining video and audio operations. In addition, DM3 channels can be assigned on the V-80HD for bi-directional control, linking audio faders, channel on/off, and mute controls between both products. Configuration is easy, requiring only IP address settings on each device. No DM3 firmware update is needed for this functionality.

A Winning Workflow Combination
Pairing the P-20HD with the V-80HD* creates a complete broadcast switching and playback solution ready to handle nearly any local production. Over an HDMI output, you can route any input source—including SDI—to the P-20HD for recording and instant replay. In addition, P-20HD clip playback and V-80HD input switching actions are synchronized over LAN/RS-232. Our Graphics Presenter software enhances your workflow even more, letting you add attractive stinger transitions to standard and slow-motion playback.
*P-20HD Version 2.0 or later and V-80HD Version 1.05 or later are required for product communication.

Roland V-80HD
