The Saramonic WiTalk9 WT8S is a hub-free 8-person full-duplex wireless intercom system for professional production crews that need uninterrupted talkback across large sets, venues and OB workflows. Operating in the 1.9 GHz DECT band, it delivers encrypted, interference-resistant communication over distances up to 500 m (approx. 1,640 ft), making it suitable for multi-camera studio floors, stadium control, festival stages or multi-room corporate productions.
This WT8S configuration combines one single-ear master headset with seven remote headsets, all with integrated transceivers, eliminating belt-packs and base stations. A dual-antenna architecture maintains a stable link as operators move around truss, backstage or among crowd areas, while latency remains ≤ 83 ms for natural, real-time conversation. ClearTalk 360° ENC uses a three-mic array and switchable noise-cancellation modes to suppress ambient SPLs up to 130 dB, keeping director calls intelligible beside line-arrays, generators or sideline PA. IPX5 weather resistance and Level-3 wind protection allow outdoor deployment in rain or coastal wind without compromising reliability.
Each WiTalk9 WT8S headset offers automatic gain control, pull-up-to-mute boom, one-touch broadcast and PTT functions plus continuous monitoring capability for recordists. Power is handled by quick-swap WiTalk9 batteries, delivering approx. 9 hours for the master and 15 hours for each remote, with a 10-slot charging bay for turnaround between call times. Quick-detach aviation-grade cooling-gel and on-ear foam cushions minimise fatigue during long live days, from morning rig to late-night de-rig.
For distributed and hybrid workflows, the LINK port and the Saramonic control app connect the master headset to computers or smartphones for remote intercom via Zoom, Teams or IP contribution. Up to 30 users can be cascaded across four WT-series sets, extending team talk across additional stages, trucks or auxiliary galleries while adaptive frequency hopping maintains spectrum stability in congested RF environments.
