SmallHD Camera Control Kit for RED RCP2 — Cine 7 / Indie 7 / 702 Touch turns your on-camera monitor into a deep-level command centre for RED KOMODO®, KOMODO-X, V-RAPTOR™ and DSMC3™ bodies. Loading the bundled software licence into PageOS 4 grants full menu access without touching the camera, keeping rigs compact on gimbals, Steadicam or cranes.
With the touchscreen you can trigger run/stop, adjust shutter angle, ISO/gain, white-balance (1 800–10 000 K), frame rate, resolution, codec and review clips – all via the secure RCP2 protocol. Status overlays mirror battery voltage, time-code and card capacity so operators stay focused on the image.
The kit supplies a digital licence card, a RED EXT 9-pin ▶ locking 5-pin USB cable (45 cm) for V-RAPTOR / DSMC3 and a locking micro-USB ▶ 5-pin LEMO adaptor (8 cm) for KOMODO. Data-only wiring guarantees zero-delay control while leaving power feeds untouched. Once activated, the licence remains bound to one monitor, safeguarding rentals.
Control data travels through the monitor’s micro-USB port, leaving SDI/HDMI free for 12 G video. Field-replaceable cables use gold-plated contacts and keyed shells rated for over 10 000 insertions — perfect for demanding broadcast schedules.
Compatible monitors automatically create an RCP2 Tool Page where waveform, false-color, zebras and 3D-LUT nodes sit beside camera parameters, unifying image analysis and control on one panel. Optimised for narrative sets, OB trucks and live-streaming stages, the kit removes external hand units and RF lag. Operators can stand 30 cm from the camera, adjusting exposure without crowding lens motors, while the encrypted handshake prevents cross-talk on multi-camera shoots.
