VELVET Kosmos 400 Color Location delivers a compact 400 W RGBWW COB LED Fresnel package with the handling of a traditional lens head and the speed of remote beam control. The true 300 mm borosilicate Fresnel lens keeps shadows clean and the field even, while the motorized zoom shifts from a tight 13° spot to a wide 56° flood for keys, backlights, kickers or textured pools on set.

The 35 mm VELVET ceramic light engine mixes R+G+B+W+CW to cover both accurate whites and saturated colour. White tuning spans 2,500–10,000 K with continuous green/magenta trim for matching broadcast cameras, practicals or LED volumes. Control modes include CCT, HSI, CCT+RGB, Gel and Effects, with zoom available in every mode and smooth 0–100% dimming plus selectable dimming curves. Colour fidelity is production-grade, with TLCI quoted up to 98 depending on CCT.

For punch at distance, photometrics reach 19,200 lux at 3 m (5,600 K, 13°) and 13,000 lux at 3 m (3,200 K, 13°); in flood, output remains usable at 4,500 lux at 3 m (50°). The driver is engineered for camera work with flicker-free performance beyond 12,000 fps, and the LED system is rated L70 beyond 50,000 hours for long service intervals.

Integration is straightforward: wired DMX/RDM via 5-pin XLR and wireless control via Wi-Fi Art-Net sCAN, Bluetooth and VELVET GOYA app workflows (with CRMX options available on many Location packages). Power runs from 90–264 V AC through PowerCon TRUE1 in/out for daisy-chaining, or 26–48 V DC via XLR-3, with PFC and full output on battery carts; dual V-Lock or Gold-mount plates are commonly used for around one hour at full power with two 200 Wh batteries. IP30 protection, operation from -20°C to +45°C, and passive liquid cooling in a sealed 3D chamber with a silent fan keep acoustics controlled for dialogue and streaming sets. The DC input expects 26–48 V; below 26 V the head shuts down and above 50 V risks damage, so high-draw packs (≥10 A continuous) are recommended.
