VELVET Light 2 IP54 is a rain-ready bi-color soft panel for broadcast studios, streaming stages and location crews that cannot pause for weather. The IP54 sealing supports exterior sets, live events and ENG workflows, while fan-free passive cooling keeps the fixture acoustically invisible for dialogue, interviews and on-camera talent.
Colour temperature is continuously adjustable from 2700K to 6500K in 100K steps, with a dedicated 3200K/5600K quick button for rapid matching to tungsten or daylight sources. The optical diffuser generates a wide, uniform field with a 100° beam. Photometrics are specified at 6090 lux at 1 m and 798 lux at 3 m. Colour performance is specified for camera work with TLCI 96, supporting consistent skin tones and predictable matching across multi-unit rigs.
Intensity control spans 0–100% with smooth, flicker-free dimming, validated for high-speed capture up to 2000 fps. Local operation uses shock-resistant buttons and a digital display; for grids and OB trucks the fixture supports DMX-RDM via 5-pin XLR for addressing and console control (In/Out via a DMX splitter lead). Power input uses a Neutrik XLR-3 DC connector, and consumption is rated at 160 W.
Power flexibility covers worldwide mains (90–264 V AC, 50/60 Hz) and DC systems via 24–35 V battery plates for V-Lock or Gold Mount, maintaining full output on battery. Operating temperature is specified from -20°C to +40°C. The black anodized and powder-coated low-carbon aluminum chassis and LED engine are rated for long service life (>50,000 h L70 / >35,000 h L80). Selected-bin LEDs, an optical diffuser and CPU control keep output repeatable for multi-camera sets, chroma key fill, tabletop product shots and fast-turnaround documentary lighting. Supplied as a pack with power supply and mounting hardware, it integrates quickly into stands, grids and travel kits.
