A lecturer leaves the lectern, a keynote speaker crosses the stage or a trainer turns toward a display: the Atomos A-Eye HD-20X Full HD PTZ camera retains the shot without an operator at every position. Its 1/2.8-inch CMOS sensor has 2.07 million effective pixels and outputs Full HD 1080p at up to 60 fps. The F1.8–2.8 lens supplies 20x optical reach, backed by 16x digital zoom, so one mounting point can cover a room view and a speaker close-up. Sensitivity rated at 0.5 lux, backlight compensation and 2D/3D noise reduction help preserve faces and presentation detail under mixed venue lighting.
AI subject tracking follows a moving presenter while the PTZ mechanism pans through ±170° and tilts from −30° to +90°. Movement speed can be set from 1.7° to 100°/s for pan and up to 69.9°/s for tilt, balancing deliberate on-air moves with quick reframing between contributors. Up to 255 presets, with 0.1° positional accuracy, give repeatable lectern, panel, whiteboard and audience angles. A tally indicator supplies the on-camera cue needed in a switched multi-camera production.
Video can leave the camera through HDMI, 3G-SDI, USB/UVC or Ethernet. The included NDI|HX3 licence places it on compatible IP production networks, while SRT, RTSP, RTMP/RTMPS, ONVIF and multicast cover contribution, direct streaming and system integration. H.264 and H.265 encoding, two network streams and CBR/VBR control let an engineer match delivery to available bandwidth. PoE+ 802.3at carries network, control and power over one cable; 12 V DC remains available for installations using separate power.
