A clean 12G-SDI path can matter as much as the recorder itself on a cinema rig. Atomos Ninja TX combines HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI input/output, bidirectional HDMI–SDI conversion and loop-through in one on-camera unit. It accepts 4K DCI/UHD up to 60p and 1080p up to 120p, while compatible RAW camera feeds can be captured at up to 8K30 or 6K60. It connects to mirrorless, cinema and broadcast cameras, while loop-through can feed a director’s display, wireless transmitter or live encoder.

Recording choices cover Apple ProRes RAW and RAW HQ, ProRes LT/422/422 HQ, Avid DNxHD/DNxHR and H.265, with the principal codecs active from first power-up. Media can be an Atomos-certified CFexpress Type B card or USB 3.0 storage through either USB-C port: the internal card keeps a handheld rig self-contained, while an external drive can handle long takes. Simultaneous proxy recording gives an editor a lighter file for prompt review, while progressive Camera-to-Cloud upload can deliver material to ATOMOSphere, Frame.io or Dropbox without passing the master through a laptop.

The 13.2 cm IPS HDR touchscreen presents 1920 × 1080 at 1500 nits, with Rec.709 gamut, 8/10-bit processing and calibration support. On set, waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope, zebras, focus peaking, Atomos/ARRI false colour and EL Zone help judge exposure and focus before a take; .cube 3D LUTs, HDR-to-HLG/PQ conversion and anamorphic de-squeeze support client viewing and lens checks. They matter where log footage must be judged consistently across several camera bodies.

For connected sets, Wi-Fi 6E and NDI 6 HX3 TX/RX let Ninja TX enter an IP production as a source or confidence monitor. AirGlu over RF or Bluetooth handles wireless timecode with compatible cameras, recorders and sync devices, reducing manual alignment on multicamera shoots. With current AtomOS firmware, USB-C control and touch-to-focus work with supported Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic and Sony models; Z CAM E2 control uses an optional LANC cable. NP-F power, USB-C PD, active cooling and the supplied locking cable adaptors serve location crews, studios and fast-turnaround teams.

It features built-in camera-to-cloud with free ATOMOSphere membership, supports NDI 6 streaming, and runs on the lightning-fast AtomOS Linux platform. No other monitor-recorder packs so much performance and compatibility into such a compact, connected device.

Camera control
Using intuitive, on-screen sliders you can adjust white balance, lens aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Control is available for most Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony mirrorless cameras over USB-C, and all Z CAM E2 series models (LANC cable required, purchased separately).

Touch to focus
Tap the Ninja TX touchscreen to have the camera automatically focus on your point of interest. Touch to focus takes advantage of camera focus modes such as focus tracking for effortless control and sharp images. Available with compatible cameras only.

Preloaded Codecs
Ninja TX comes with preloaded codecs: Apple ProRes/RAW, Avid DNx, H.265 and NDI 6 HX3 TX & RX.

Display
5.2-inch IPS touchscreen, with increased brightness to 1500nits – perfect for clear, precise and vivid monitoring in any setting, from the outdoors in sunlight, to a studio.  The 8/10-bit color processing, HDR support, Rec. 709 color gamut, and calibration support ensure accurate and defined color and high-quality monitoring.

New Operating System & Build
Powered by the lightning-fast AtomOS Linux operating with user-friendly UX and a full suite of professional monitoring tools, and a re-engineered build providing a quieter, cooler and more efficient operation.

Wireless Features and Camera to Cloud
Ninja TX camera monitor & recorder comes with connectivity built-in, including, camera-to-cloud with free ATOMOSphere membership, NDI 6 streaming and full integration into an NDI network, It also includes AirGlu timecode sync over RF or Bluetooth to sync all your cameras, audio recorders, and monitors, acting as a timecode sync solution.

Ninja TX is also the leader in Camera to Cloud (C2C) workflows – allowing you to upload your video files directly from your Atomos monitor-recorder to the cloud. Atomos supports direct progressive upload to ATOMOSphere (with a free 20GB starter storage plan), as well as Adobe Frame.io and Dropbox.

The wireless capabilities also provide ‘over the air’ (OTA) firmware updates, for a quick and convenient way to keep the OS current.

Comprehensive Color and Metadata
The Ninja TX supports the use of select Sony, ARRI, JVC, RED, FUJIFILM, Nikon, Panasonic, and Canon log formats. Upload custom 3D LUTs to the monitor and output HDR conversion to Log, HLG, PQ, or Dolby Vision formats.

12G-SDI and HDMI Input/Output
HDMI input supports 8K video up to 30 fps, up to 4K60, and up to 1080p120. Loop-through passes the incoming HDMI signal from the camera to another device, for example, an external monitor, wireless transmitter, or live streaming encoder. The addition of 12G-SDI means a wider range of cameras and production workflows is supported, and the SDI ports also support loop-through. The monitor also supports cross conversion from HDMI to 12G-SDI and 12G-SDI to HDMI.

Via the HDMI input, you can record raw metadata such as white balance, exposure index, shutter speed/angle, Iris F stop, ISO, gamma, and gamut

Recording & Media Options
The Ninja TX now includes a CFexpress Type B slot and dual USB-C recording outputs supporting fast data transfer to external USB media. The optionality is designed for scalability and futureproofing. In addition to recording directly to storage, the USB-C ports can also be used custom 3D LUT uploads and audio devices.

Professional Monitoring Tools
The Ninja TX offers an expansive suite of easy to use, one-touch monitoring tools for focus, framing, and exposure, including focus peaking, zoom (2:1, 1:1), zebras, false color (including ARRI and EL Zone), frame guides, SMPTE safe areas, grid markers, waveforms, RGB parade, vectorscope, and flexible 3D/1D LUT support with profile and preset options (including .cube file uploads). It also provides anamorphic de-squeeze monitoring to correct the ratio for anamorphic lens setups.

Power Options
An L-series battery on the back of the Ninja TX supports NP-F L-series batteries. Alternatively, a battery eliminator can be used to provide DC power to the monitor, or a USB-C port supports 30W PD power delivery with the included cable.

Unique cable locking system
Atomos has developed a unique and rugged locking ecosystem to maintain a secure grip on connected HDMI and USB-C cables. Ninja TX comes with special brackets to facilitate this, and a USB-C locking cable. With Atomos locking cables you get the most robust cable system available today.

Tally light
Adding a tally light to Ninja TX is a simple but powerful update that is especially useful in live production setups. A tally light provides a clear visual indicator of when the camera is recording or broadcasting. When Ninja TX is recording, the light automatically turns red (live/on-air). If the tally light is green it indicates to the talent that the camera/monitor-recorder is on preview or standby.
