When a multi-camera shoot demands more than a laptop-based software switcher can deliver, but a full broadcast console would be overkill, the AVMATRIX SHARK S6 occupies that critical middle ground. This compact 6-channel video mixer accepts four 3G-SDI and two HDMI inputs, all at resolutions up to 1080p60, with HDMI sources reaching WUXGA 1920×1200. Two SDI and one HDMI program outputs feed downstream recorders or displays, while two dedicated SDI AUX outputs can be independently assigned to any input, program, preview, or multiview signal — a routing option that proves indispensable during conferences, house-of-worship services, or stadium screen feeds.

A built-in 5-inch LCD touchscreen shows a real-time multiview of all six sources alongside streaming and recording indicators, so a single operator can monitor every camera without an external display. Transitions happen via a physical T-bar, one-press Auto, or instant Cut, with MIX, DIP, and WIPE effects available for each switch. A chroma key engine handles green-screen compositing on set, while picture-in-picture and LOGO overlay let operators build layered compositions without external graphics tools.

On the streaming side, the AVMATRIX SHARK S6 pushes live video over its Ethernet port using RTMP, RTMPS, RTSP, and SRT — connecting directly to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, or any custom ingest server. A USB-C webcam output turns the mixer into a capture device recognised by OBS, vMix, Teams, and Skype on Windows, Linux, and macOS. Program output records locally to an SD card or USB drive in MJPEG at up to 32 Mb/s, giving crews an on-site master file independent of any stream.

Six channels of embedded SDI/HDMI audio plus two 3.5 mm microphone inputs feed a built-in mixer with per-channel delay and AFV. For remote camera work, the unit controls PTZ cameras over LAN or RS-232/422/485 using VISCA, VISCA over IP, Pelco D/P, and ONVIF. A DE-15 GPIO tally port feeds on-air indicators back to each camera position. Running on just 18 W from a 12 V DC supply, the SHARK S6 fits inside an OB van, a portable fly-pack, or a permanent studio control room.
