BirdDog X1 30x Black is a compact Full HD PTZ camera for broadcast studios, live events and corporate streaming where long-reach framing and IP transport must coexist. A 1/2.8-inch Sony CMOS sensor (2.07 MP) outputs 1080p60 (also 50/59.94) and 720p with >50 dB SNR, backed by 2D/3D noise reduction and backlight compensation for mixed stage lighting. The 30× optical zoom lens (5.2–148.4 mm, f/1.3–4.8) covers a 58.1° wide angle down to 2.14° tele (H), enabling clean close-ups from the back of an auditorium without moving a tripod.

PTZ mechanics support repeatable cues: pan/tilt ranges of ±175° and -90° to +90° with variable speeds up to 80°/s (pan) and 60°/s (tilt). Directors can store 255 presets for instant multi-shot recall, while AI tracking and AI face focus maintain framing for panels, lecture capture, worship, sports commentary positions and hybrid meetings. A front Halo Tally plus rear illuminated numbering makes on-air status unambiguous for both talent and crew.

Connectivity is production-flexible: simultaneous NDI|HX3/NDI|HX2, SRT, RTSP and RTMP streaming over 10/100 Ethernet or Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), with H.264/H.265 compression for predictable bandwidth on shared networks. Outputs also include HDMI and USB-C UVC 1.1 for direct use as a USB video source in conferencing, capture and streaming software. Power is handled via PoE (IEEE 802.3af) or 12 VDC, and control integrates with existing rooms via VISCA-IP, RS-232/RS-485 and NDI control.

For deployment at scale, the side e-Ink status display shows the camera network address even when powered down, accelerating commissioning and troubleshooting. The integrated NDI return/decoder can feed a confidence monitor or teleprompter via the same network path, reducing cabling at podiums and stages. Multi-camera matching is supported by a 64-level colour matrix per channel (RGB plus cyan, yellow and magenta), and the camera adds a 608×1080 (9:16) mode for vertical live production and social-first outputs.

BirdDog X1 30x 1080P PTZ Camera with 30x Zoom
Following the X1 and X1 Ultra, BirdDog's new X1 30x is the third PTZ camera worldwide with integrated WiFi technology. It features an NDI-HX decoder that was specially developed for use with a control monitor or teleprompter via a single cable. In addition, the X1 30x offers a 30x zoom that is unmatched in the PTZ sector.

The AI tracking technology of all three X1 models keeps the respective subject in focus and follows it in real time: both during live events or spontaneous situations in hybrid environments as well as during dynamic sports recordings. Thanks to its Wi-Fi technology, the BirdDog X1 30x can also be used in locations where cables cannot be laid. This allows it to blend seamlessly into any environment. Thanks to NDI-HX3 integration, the image quality of the network transmission is excellent – with significantly reduced network load.

X1 30x features a unique tally system. A frame that is clearly visible even in daylight lights up on the front of the camera, while the rear can be marked with a replaceable, illuminated number. This means that both the actors in front of the camera and the crew always know which camera is currently on air. The revolutionary e-Ink label on the side displays the camera's network address, even when the power is off. This makes it clearly identifiable and very easy to set up at any time.

In addition, BirdDog has further optimized the display of image colors. X1 30x also features a full-color matrix with individual saturation control for red, green, blue, cyan, yellow, and magenta, with 64 control levels for each color.

The very easy-to-use app for iPad or iPhone gives you full control over the BirdDog camera – from panning, tilting, and zooming to saving and recalling preset PTZ positions to preview images in full-screen mode. All color matrix tools and settings can also be controlled via the app.

Connectivity is limitless with NDI HX3, HDMI, USB-C, and Wi-Fi, seamlessly connecting IP and baseband worlds. In the spirit of sustainability, every X1 30x is made from OBP plastics.
