BirdDog X1 30x White is a fixed-install PTZ camera that prioritises reach, repeatability and network-ready output for studios, houses of worship, lecture capture and corporate stages. A Sony 1/2.8” CMOS sensor delivers Full HD 1080p up to 60 fps (plus 720p and a vertical 608×1080 mode), backed by 2D/3D noise reduction, >50 dB SNR and backlight compensation for mixed lighting.

The optical block provides a true 30x optical zoom (f=5.2–148.4 mm), moving from 58.1° wide to 2.14° tele for tight head-and-shoulders coverage from long throw distances. Pan/tilt travel reaches ±175° and -90° to +90°, with 0.1–80°/s pan and 0.1–60°/s tilt plus 255 presets for consistent cues. Built-in AI tracking keeps talent centred during walk-and-talk segments, panel discussions, worship leadership or fast-paced sport.

For IP production, X1 30x encodes NDI|HX2/NDI|HX3, SRT, RTSP and RTMP in H.264/H.265, covering LAN switching and remote contribution to a decoder, recorder or CDN. A practical differentiator is the integrated NDI|HX decoder, which can output an NDI return feed via HDMI for confidence monitoring and teleprompter operation without adding a standalone decoder. Video outputs include HDMI, USB-C UVC 1.1 and network, enabling direct ingest into conferencing apps or a capture workstation.

Deployment is streamlined via PoE (802.3af) on 10/100 Ethernet plus built-in Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) when cabling is impractical. Control integrates via VISCA-IP, RS-232/RS-485, NDI and REST-style API access, with browser operation through BirdUI and cloud onboarding via Iris for multi-site fleets. For shading, a full colour matrix provides 64-step saturation control per channel alongside Kelvin adjustment. On-air discipline is reinforced by the front Halo Tally, rear illuminated numbering and a side e-Ink label that keeps the camera’s network identity readable even when power is off. An NDI Mute function supports privacy in meeting rooms.

BirdDog X1 30x 1080P PTZ Camera with 30x Zoom
Following the X1 and X1 Ultra, BirdDog's new X1 30x is the third PTZ camera worldwide with integrated WiFi technology. It features an NDI-HX decoder that was specially developed for use with a control monitor or teleprompter via a single cable. In addition, the X1 30x offers a 30x zoom that is unmatched in the PTZ sector.

The AI tracking technology of all three X1 models keeps the respective subject in focus and follows it in real time: both during live events or spontaneous situations in hybrid environments as well as during dynamic sports recordings. Thanks to its Wi-Fi technology, the BirdDog X1 30x can also be used in locations where cables cannot be laid. This allows it to blend seamlessly into any environment. Thanks to NDI-HX3 integration, the image quality of the network transmission is excellent – with significantly reduced network load.

X1 30x features a unique tally system. A frame that is clearly visible even in daylight lights up on the front of the camera, while the rear can be marked with a replaceable, illuminated number. This means that both the actors in front of the camera and the crew always know which camera is currently on air. The revolutionary e-Ink label on the side displays the camera's network address, even when the power is off. This makes it clearly identifiable and very easy to set up at any time.

In addition, BirdDog has further optimized the display of image colors. X1 30x also features a full-color matrix with individual saturation control for red, green, blue, cyan, yellow, and magenta, with 64 control levels for each color.

The very easy-to-use app for iPad or iPhone gives you full control over the BirdDog camera – from panning, tilting, and zooming to saving and recalling preset PTZ positions to preview images in full-screen mode. All color matrix tools and settings can also be controlled via the app.

Connectivity is limitless with NDI HX3, HDMI, USB-C, and Wi-Fi, seamlessly connecting IP and baseband worlds. In the spirit of sustainability, every X1 30x is made from OBP plastics.
