BirdDog X4E Ultra White is a wired-first 4K60 PTZ camera for permanent rigs where network stability and deterministic control take priority. The imaging block pairs a Sony 1/1.8-inch UHD CMOS sensor (8.42 MP) with a 20x optical zoom lens (f=6.25–125 mm, F1.58–3.95), covering a 66.6° diagonal wide shot and a 4.0° tele end for lecterns, courtside close-ups or product demonstrations. Supported formats include UHD 3840 x 2160 at 60/59.94/50/30/29.97/25 fps, plus 1080p, 1080i and 720p for mixed infrastructures.
For hybrid baseband/IP workflows, the camera outputs simultaneous HDMI, 3G-SDI (up to 1080p), USB-C UVC and network video. Over Ethernet, NDI®|HX3 (and NDI HX2) provides low-latency contribution with controlled bandwidth, while SRT, RTMP and RTSP cover remote contribution, CDN ingest and monitoring. Compression is available in H.264 / H.265, and the 1 GbE interface accepts PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) or 12 V DC power, keeping NDI production and remote distribution in the same camera.
Control integration targets broadcast and corporate AV: VISCA (RS-232), VISCA-IP, ONVIF and NDI control enable interoperability with PTZ keyboards, switcher panels and automation systems. Robotics deliver ±170° pan and -30° to +90° tilt with up to 80°/s pan speed, and 255 presets lock repeatable framing across multi-camera shows. Imaging tools include 3D noise reduction, backlight compensation and shutter 1–1/10000 s, while a 3.5 mm TRS line/mic input can be embedded into HDMI/SDI/NDI/USB outputs.
On set, the lens-surround HALO Tally is daylight-visible to keep talent on-axis, and the always-on e-Ink label can show identifiers and a QR code for rapid access to BirdUI browser control. AI Tracking modes (Presenter and Zone) automate framing for lecture capture, worship services, corporate studios and remote guest sets running TriCaster, vMix, OBS, Wirecast or ProPresenter. The white finish blends into modern interiors where discreet hardware matters.

BirdDog X4E Ultra
With the new X4E Ultra PTZ camera, BirdDog has launched a wired version of the X4 Ultra. It has been specially designed for studios, event venues, places of worship, and large installations where maximum reliability and value are paramount.
To this end, the X4E Ultra draws on the powerful DNA of the X4 Ultra. It features the same Sony sensor, the same image pipeline, and, last but not least, the same precision technology from BirdDog. However, all components are optimized for wired workflows. This is because the X4E was developed for fixed installations and controlled network environments where consistency is the decisive factor.
By eliminating Wi-Fi and an internal battery, the X4E Ultra is easier for system installers to integrate. Its lower price makes it easier to decide to use multiple cameras. At the same time, it offers the same professional flexibility for SDI, HDMI, USB-C, SRT, NDI, RTMP, and RTSP.
As a professional tool, the X4E Ultra features what is probably the most visible and effective tally system on the market today. It surrounds the lens with a large frame that is visible even in daylight and ensures that the actors look directly into the camera. At the same time, both the actors and the production team always know where to look in order to captivate the audience.
The X4E Ultra's AI control is user-friendly and ensures reliable and consistent performance with every shot. As demands increase, the AI functions expand and adapt to enable precise, automated control of your PTZ camera movements.

The X4E Ultra's always-on E-Ink label is an important innovation. On the one hand, it allows each camera to be easily identified even when switched off. On the other hand, network addresses can be displayed for easy access to controls or even customizable logos (available soon) that complement your brand image.
BirdUI gives users full access to all X4E Ultra features via an intuitive user interface - from anywhere, as long as they are on the same network as the X4E Ultra. BirdUI also offers additional features such as a camera monitoring dashboard and light/dark modes that can be adapted to your production environment.
