BrightSign LS425 is a Full HD digital signage player in the BrightSign LS5 Series, aimed at single-display deployments where deterministic playback and controlled I/O are non-negotiable. Video is delivered over HDMI 2.0a at up to 1920×1080 with frame rates through 60p. The decode stack covers H.265/HEVC and H.264/AVC, plus VP9 and MPEG-2, with containers such as MP4, MOV, MKV, TS and MPG; stills and graphics accept BMP/JPEG/PNG. Audio playback includes MP2, MP3, AAC and WAV, with AC3 pass-through.
For content that mixes video with browser-rendered layers, LS425 runs a Chromium-based HTML5 engine (CSS/JavaScript/WebGL) suited to dashboards, tickers, time & weather widgets, room-status panels, and lightweight motion graphics timed to video zones. Provisioning and fleet operations integrate with brightAuthor:connected and bsn.Control via BSN.Cloud, matching common CMS workflows while keeping an offline path through microSD playback for secured networks or closed sets.
Connectivity targets professional control systems: 10/100 Ethernet for scheduling and monitoring, a single USB-C port supporting host and device modes, and supported custom cables that expose GPIO, serial (RS-232) and IR for triggers, contact closures, sensors or automation. Audio is available on 3.5 mm with analog and S/PDIF output. Operating range is 0–50°C. The platform supports an internal M.2 E-Key slot for an optional Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module (dual-antenna). A real-time clock with about 14-day backup maintains schedules through power cycles; power is via a locking 12 V / 1.5 A supply.
