The DZOFilm Arles Lustre 14mm T2.2 FF/VV Prime Cine Lens PL Mount brings a distinctive amber halation and soft golden flare character to ultra-wide cinematography, blending vintage warmth with modern optical engineering. Built around a 15-element, 12-group optical formula with dual aspherical elements, this 14mm corrects spherical aberrations and coma while suppressing onion-ring bokeh artifacts — a critical advantage when shooting wide-open at T2.2 on full-frame and Vista Vision sensors.
Covering a 46.5mm image circle, the lens works seamlessly on FF and VV cameras such as the ARRI ALEXA 65, RED V-RAPTOR, or Sony VENICE, delivering the expansive field of view needed for establishing shots, architectural interiors, and immersive handheld sequences. A 116° diagonal angle of view combined with a remarkably close 0.28m minimum focus distance opens practical creative range — from sweeping landscapes to intimate close-quarter storytelling. The 16-blade iris renders bokeh that is round, layered, and organic.
Compact enough for shoulder rigs, gimbals, technocranes, and drone platforms, the Arles Lustre 14mm keeps crews mobile without sacrificing mechanical precision. Its 270° focus throw gives focus pullers fine control, while the standardised 95mm front diameter and 0.8 Mod gear pitch allow seamless swaps with nine other focal lengths in the Lustre series without re-adjusting follow focus motors or matte boxes. A native PL mount connects to most professional cinema camera systems; optional EF and LPL mount kits broaden compatibility further. Interchangeable metric and imperial focus scales add convenience on international co-productions.
The proprietary Amber Halation coating, developed alongside more than twenty cinematographers specialising in art films, period dramas, and fashion advertising, gives every frame a low-contrast, poetically sharp rendering with warm golden flares and a subtle bluish-purple tonal shift that softens skin textures without sacrificing 12K resolution. Compatibility with DZOFILM KOOP rear magnetic filters broadens on-set filtration options. The Arles Lustre is a characteristic high-speed prime lens series and a brand new exploration of cinematic artistry by DZOFILM. "Lustre," meaning "soft glow," draws inspiration from the iconic golden halation in cinema history.
To craft this large-format lens collection designed for stylistic expression, we collaborated with over 20 cinematographers and photographers specializing in art films, period dramas, and fashion advertising. Based on the sophisticated delicate design of Arles prime, after more than 50 rounds of precise adjustments and refinements, from optical engineering to aesthetic design, we achieved the distinctive "Lustre Look".
Vista Vision Format for Expansive Imagery
The Lustre series spans focal lengths from 14mm to 180mm and is fully compatible with Vista Vision sensors, effortlessly achieving IMAX-level depth of field and expansive perspectives.
