The mechanical package uses 0.8 MOD gears with long throws—270° focus, 100° zoom, 77° iris—for precise pulls with motors or follow-focus units. Breathing is tightly controlled, and the 16-blade aperture yields smooth, round highlights. Minimum focus sits at 0.51 m (1.8 ft) from the sensor plane, enabling dramatic foregrounds without crane-sized setups.

Optics comprise 20 elements in 14 groups optimized for uniform sharpness, controlled chromatic aberration and reduced veiling flare.
