Two hosts at a desk, a guest on the sofa, and one wide camera that must hold all three without bending the room: a job for the DZOFilm Vespid Prime 35mm T2.1 PL Mount + EF (VV/FF). Its 46.5 mm image circle fills full-frame and VistaVision sensors, so a Sony BURANO records corner to corner. On a Super 35 B-camera such as an ARRI ALEXA 35, it tightens to roughly a 45–50 mm full-frame view: a clean single of the guest. Video podcasts, boardroom interviews and newsroom documentaries all suit this cine prime.

Eleven elements in nine groups form an apochromatic (APO) layout, keeping colour fringes off microphones and white collars on a dark set. Focus breathing is low, so racking from host to guest leaves the framing steady. The rendering sits between modern precision and older cine glass, with neutral colour that grades in step with the range and skin that stays soft on 8K sensors. Sixteen iris blades keep bokeh highlights round a stop or two down. Hard sun on the front element can still lift the shadows, so keep a flag handy; when a music video wants that glow on purpose, the optional KOOP Artistic Set (Black Mist 1/4, blue streak) clips magnetically to the rear of PL builds.

Focus pullers get a 270° focus throw, with the iris travelling 63° from T2.1 to T22. Both rings carry 0.8 MOD (32 pitch) gears placed identically on every Vespid Prime, so the 35 drops into a rig built for the 50 without re-seating the motor. The 80 mm front matches the series too, so the matte box stays put; lighter builds can use the M77 thread instead. At its 0.3 m minimum, measured from the sensor plane, it frames a wine label tightly for a product insert.

PL and EF mounts both come in the box; optional Octopus adapters reach E, RF, L and X cameras. After a swap, DZOFilm's back-focus check runs at T4 on a target 1.6 m away, and shims from 0.02 to 0.3 mm restore the 52 mm (PL) or 44 mm (EF) flange depth. The aluminium housing is purely mechanical, with nothing electronic to fail on location, though VFX plates need external encoders for lens metadata. Present in every Vespid set DZOFilm offers, from five lenses to nine, it matches any kit a production company owns or rents in.
