Fujinon LA16x8BRM is a 2/3" B4 mount 4K broadcast lens tuned for the Blackmagic URSA Broadcast family and other 2/3" studio or ENG chains. The 8–128 mm zoom range with a 16x servo ratio covers everything from tight studio sets and conferences to fast-paced news and field productions, while maintaining parfocal behaviour and consistent framing during pulls. The optical block supports native 4K acquisition, with high contrast and low chromatic aberration across the image, making it suitable for HDR and demanding live workflows.
The maximum aperture of f/1.9 at 8 mm and f/2.8 at 128 mm keeps exposure under control in studios, OB vans and stadium lighting, reducing the need to push gain on the camera. A 16:9 field of view from approximately 61.8° at the wide end down to around 4.3° at full telephoto enables precise framing for anchor shots, touchline cameras or fixed POV positions. The minimum object distance of about 0.8 m from the front element, combined with an internal focusing system, keeps breathing low and focus tracking predictable during long zoom moves.
For close-ups of talent, products or control surfaces, the integrated macro function shifts the focusing group to reach working distances down to roughly 0.05 m from the front lens, ideal for extreme detail shots in broadcast graphics inserts, e-sports, tabletop demos or medical and industrial streams. Electronic flange-back adjustment is available directly on the lens barrel, allowing the operator or engineer to calibrate back focus quickly while zooming from wide to tele, without entering camera menus or touching the mount.
The digital servo drive provides responsive zoom control for handheld or pedestal work, and accepts standard Fujinon zoom and focus demands for studio configurations with tripod arms or pan bars. In multi-camera URSA Broadcast setups, LA16x8BRM allows a consistent optical package across all positions, simplifying shading and matching in 4K or HD productions for live sports, worship, corporate events and news studios. Robust mechanics and familiar Fujinon ergonomics support intensive daily operation in rental, broadcast and production environments.
