The Laowa Nanomorph 65 mm T2.4 1.5× Anamorphic S35 (Amber) PL + EF is a telephoto anamorphic prime for Super 35 sensors. Its constant 1.5× squeeze yields a 2.66 : 1 frame from any 16 : 9 recorder, keeping full resolution while adding true scope character. Warm amber horizontal flares and pronounced oval bokeh give organic texture without unwanted colour shift.
Inside, 15 elements in 13 groups feed a 13-blade iris. The fast T2.4 stop maintains transmission across the 28.8 × 18 mm image circle, delivering shallow depth and flattering telephoto compression. Angle of view on S35 is 36.8° × 15.8°, and a close-focus of 0.70 m enables dramatic tight shots with minimal breathing over the generous 270° focus throw.
The aluminium barrel weighs only 820 g and measures 99 mm, so it balances perfectly on gimbals, drones or shoulder rigs. Unified 0.8 MOD gear rings match the entire Nanomorph set, cutting change-over time. A 3/8″-16 support foot is supplied, and the 80 mm front accepts standard 77 mm screw-in filters when matte boxes are impractical.
Dual metric/imperial scales aid international crews, while internal focusing keeps the front static for predictable rig clearance. Two user-switchable mounts—ARRI PL and Canon EF—cover digital cine cameras and DSLRs. Colour rendering matches the 27, 35, 50 and 80 mm Nanomorphs, and the lens pairs with Laowa’s 1.33× adapter to reach a 2× squeeze (3.55 : 1) when required. Gear positions match the rest of the family, the iris offers 78.6° rotation for smooth pulls, and multi-layer coatings tame veiling glare. Rugged by design.
