Covering a 31.5 mm image circle, it suits Super 35 sensors and maintains a constant T2.9 stop across the 28-55 mm span, preserving exposure during reframes.

Optically, 21 elements in 15 groups deliver a steady 1.5× squeeze for native 2.66:1 on 16:9 cameras while suppressing chromatic error. The formula is parfocal: focus fixed at 55 mm stays sharp when zooming out. A nine-blade iris shapes oval bokeh, and the signature blue flare gives a crisp sci-fi accent without veiling glare.

Cine ergonomics are rigorous. Independent 0.8 MOD gears align with follow-focus rigs; 270° focus, 100° zoom and 41° iris arcs give granular pulls.
