Laowa Nanomorph Zoom 28-55 mm T2.9 1.5× Anamorphic S35 (Blue) PL condenses widescreen aesthetics into a housing only 188.5 mm long and 1.51 kg. Covering a 31.5 mm image circle, it suits Super 35 sensors and maintains a constant T2.9 stop across the 28-55 mm span, preserving exposure during reframes.
Optically, 21 elements in 15 groups deliver a steady 1.5× squeeze for native 2.66:1 on 16:9 cameras while suppressing chromatic error. The formula is parfocal: focus fixed at 55 mm stays sharp when zooming out. A nine-blade iris shapes oval bokeh, and the signature blue flare gives a crisp sci-fi accent without veiling glare.
Cine ergonomics are rigorous. Independent 0.8 MOD gears align with follow-focus rigs; 270° focus, 100° zoom and 41° iris arcs give granular pulls. Dual distance scales assist mixed crews, the 45 cm close focus enables tight framings, and a 77 mm front thread supports ND or diopter work on gimbals, drones or car rigs.
Field of view spans 56.7°–30.7°, front diameter is 80 mm (84.8 mm max), and internal focusing prevents length change. The native PL mount is user-swappable for RF, E, L, Z or X (kits optional). Pair it with the Nanomorph 50-100 mm for 28-100 mm coverage, or add Laowa’s 1.33× front adapter for a full-frame 2× squeeze. Durable alloy cams keep torque consistent from -10 °C to 45 °C, breathing stays minimal, and multi-layer coatings protect HDR contrast under LED walls. At just 1.51 kg, it stays inside most portable-stabiliser limits while delivering expressive stretch and creamy isolation. Ships with front/rear caps and a three-year warranty.
