Engineered for precision framing inside cramped sets, the Laowa PeriProbe 24 mm T14 2 × Macro Lens – L-Mount delivers an unusually wide 85° angle of view while reproducing subjects at a life-size 2:1 ratio. Covering full-frame sensors, the 40.8 cm probe barrel lets operators push through foliage, miniatures or product assemblies without throwing shadows, capturing immersive “bug-eye” perspectives that standard tele-macro optics cannot reach.

Its rectilinear design stacks 28 elements in 19 groups with a low-distortion path that controls chromatic fringing across the frame. A stepless T14–T40 iris with 7 blades keeps exposure repeatable under studio lighting while maintaining cinematic bokeh. Manual focusing down to 2 cm working distance is supported by industry-standard 0.8 MOD pitch gears, ensuring smooth pulls when paired with follow-focus systems.

The kit ships with two front sections: a straight 0° tube and a 90° periscope module that can be rotated 360° for shot-reversals or dynamic barrel rolls. The slender 29 mm tip is waterproof for several centimetres, enabling transition shots from liquid to air. A detachable USB-powered LED ring floods the scene with fill light, and a 1/4-20 thread at the nose secures accent sources or mini-arms.

Weighing only 0.77 kg and balanced around the L-Mount flange, the PeriProbe integrates effortlessly with gimbals, sliders and robotic heads for broadcast, tabletop VFX, scientific imaging or live-streaming workflows. Its telecentric optics support 8K capture, retaining acuity at 2× magnification.
