Laowa’s Proteus 2-Lens Bundle pairs the 45 mm and 85 mm T2 2× anamorphic primes in the sought-after Blue flare version, giving Super 35 crews the classic horizontal streak and oval bokeh produced by a constant 2× squeeze. On a 4:3 sensor you record 2.66:1 that crops cleanly to 2.39:1, maximising resolution. Interchangeable ARRI PL / Canon EF mounts keep the set adaptable across digital-cinema rigs.

The 45 mm covers a 25.9 mm image circle and uses a 17-element, 14-group block. A 300° focus throw with 0.8 MOD gears allows precise pulls down to 0.55 m (21.6″); the fast T2 and 10-blade iris create smooth, elongated highlights. Front diameter 114 mm, 105 mm filter thread, length 18.3 cm, mass 2.4 kg. Metric and imperial scales are engraved for mixed crews.

The 85 mm mirrors that layout for seamless swaps. Its 18-element/13-group design holds the squeeze without “mumps” and focuses to 0.82 m (32.3″). Despite a longer 23.9 cm barrel the lens weighs only 2.95 kg. Internal back-focus trim removes shimming, and gear positions align perfectly with the 45 mm for rapid lens changes.

Each hard-anodised housing (Ø 114 mm) accepts industry-standard 0.8 MOD gears, so FIZ motors, matte boxes and clamps transfer without adjustment. A floating cell maintains edge sharpness at minimum distance, and breathing is virtually invisible.
