Laowa Proteus 60 mm T2 2× Anamorphic S35 Amber sets a high-precision benchmark for Super 35 capture. The 25.9 mm × 21.6 mm image circle blankets ALEXA 35 and RED V-RAPTOR sensors, and the constant 2× squeeze outputs native 2.66 : 1 on 4 : 3 sensors for clean 2.39 : 1 masters after de-squeeze. A bright T2 stop grants low-light latitude and wafer-thin depth, while the 17-element/13-group core holds MTF corner to corner and suppresses lateral colour. Close-focus at 0.70 m enables dramatic foreground isolation without “anamorphic mumps”.

A 300° focus helix lets 1st ACs hit marks from 0.70 m to infinity; unified 0.8 MOD gears keep follow-focus positions identical across the Proteus set. Ten blades keep oval bokeh intact to T22, and a 60° iris throw supports on-the-fly exposure rides.
