Covering Super 35+ sensors (Ø25.92 × 21.6 mm) such as ALEXA 35 or RED V-RAPTOR, it projects a constant 2 × squeeze, yielding a 2.66 : 1 image on 4 : 3 and 2.40 : 1 on 6 : 5 frames. Horizontal field of view hits 73°, vertical 34.3°, delivering genuine cinemascope straight out of camera.

Inside, 17 elements in 14 groups and high-index cylindrical glass produce strong micro-contrast while suppressing chromatic smear. A fast T2–T22 aperture pairs with a 10-blade iris for elongated, elliptical bokeh and controlled highlight streaks. Minimum object distance is 0.55 m, supporting expressive close-ups; focus breathing stays negligible across the generous 300° throw, so rack pulls keep framing locked.

Operationally the lens speaks fluent cinema language: dual-scale 0.8 MOD gears, unified ring positions across the Proteus family, and a front diameter of Ø114 mm / 105 mm filter suit clip-on matte boxes or round glass.
