Laowa Proteus Zoom 45-85 mm T2.9 2× Anamorphic S35 (Blue) distils cinemascope character into a compact cine zoom. The true 2× squeeze paints a 2.39 : 1 canvas with assertive horizontal streaks and elliptical bokeh, driven by the dedicated blue-flare coating. Inside, 20 elements in 14 groups keep resolution and colour accuracy consistent throughout the 45–85 mm span while containing distortion.

The lens is parfocal, holds a constant T2.9, and breathes only subtly, so focus pulls remain invisible during zooms. An 11-blade iris preserves round highlights right down to T22. Focus, zoom and iris rings share 0.8 MOD gearing with throws of 270°, 100° and 42°, enabling precise FIZ mapping on robotics or broadcast rigs.

At just 1.49 kg and 19.3 cm long, the Proteus travels where most anamorphic zooms cannot. A unified Ø 80 mm frontmates with clip-on matte boxes, and the 77 mm filter thread accepts screw-in NDs for fast exterior work.
