The closest-focusing model in the Catta Zoom line and its longest one travel together in the DZOFilm Catta Zoom 2-Lens Kit (18-35/70-135 T2.9) White Sony E Mount. The 18-35 mm focuses to 0.51 m from the sensor, nearer than its two siblings; the 70-135 mm reaches the line's telephoto limit. Both are full-frame cine zooms with a 43.5 mm image circle and a 1.9x ratio, held at T2.9 through the zoom and closing to T22. The white Catta 35-80, sold separately, fills 35–70 mm in the same livery.

Optically, the pair is tuned to cut together. Twenty elements in 14 groups on the wide model and 17 in 11 on the long one give a slightly warm rendering with natural skin; a long-form documentary review noted some colour fringing towards the frame edges, read as vintage character rather than a flaw. Breathing is low.

Take a production house streaming a city council's monthly sessions. From the public gallery, 9 m from the presiding table, the 70-135 frames about 4.6 m of the room at 70 mm, mayor and clerks together, and some 2.4 m at 135 mm, the mayor alone. Shimmed to the body, each zoom is parfocal: a push-in on the programme feed holds focus, and the fixed stop never forces a gain change mid-move in dim chamber light. On a Sony FX3 rigged with the supplied lens support, the 18-35 opens on the horseshoe of benches at 18 mm. Racking from a speaking councillor to the clerk barely rescales the picture; at minimum focus, it cuts away to a voting console. Its 16-blade iris turns desk lamps behind into round highlights.

Both barrels share one mechanical map: 270° of focus throw, 100° of zoom, an iris turning 77° or 80°, every ring cut at 0.8 MOD in matching positions, so FIZ motors hold their rod positions through a swap. An 80 mm front and M77 thread take the same matte box and screw-in glass. A rear slot takes optional Catta COIN filters (ND, Black Mist, streak), made for the mirrorless Catta Zoom alone. The Sony E mount comes free with a twist and a button press, making way for RF, L, X or Z bayonets bought as extras. Each zoom ships with shims, a support base, rod and caps, in a hard case with laser-cut foam. On a recurring contract, prep never changes between sessions.
