Libec NX-400MQC is a mid-level spreader tripod system built around the NH40 fluid head and QL40C carbon-fibre legs, aimed at fast-paced broadcast, documentary and live production crews running compact cinema cameras, handheld camcorders or fully rigged mirrorless bodies, with rigs up to 10 kg. The head’s 75 mm bowl levelling and flat-base 3/8"-16 option let you move the same head from tripod to slider, skater dolly or low riser without changing your workflow—handy for event coverage where a locked-off wide shot and a short move share the same camera.

The NH40 combines a 5-step counterbalance plus free setting with 3-step pan/tilt drag plus free, driven by a metal laminated drag unit for repeatable starts and stops. A sideload, one-touch quick-release sliding plate (Manfrotto/Sachtler compatible) supports fine balance with ±30 mm travel, while the plate hardware offers both 1/4" and 3/8" camera screws and a locating pin for anti-twist rigs. The pan handle mounts left or right, matching operator position in tight sets.

Tilt range reaches +90° / −70° for high-angle stage shots or low interview framing, and operation stays predictable from −40°C to +60°C. The LED-illuminated bubble level keeps levelling practical in dark venues and OB trucks. A tie-down spacer system increases compatibility with different mounting thicknesses when using the flat base.

QL40C legs use a single upper flip-type Quick Lock per leg to release both stages at once, so height changes happen from a standing position—valuable when resetting between takes, multi-cam panels or worship streams. The included BR-2B mid-level spreader stabilises the system on uneven floors and temporary stages, and FP-1B rubber footpads stay quiet on studio surfaces. Multiple 1/4" and 3/8" accessory threads on the head and legs take monitors, wireless receivers, tally or timecode boxes. Pack-down stays organised with the supplied RC-30 carrying case.
