Libec NX-400QC Video Tripod

Libec NX-400QC is a floor-spreader tripod system that pairs the NH40 fluid head with QL40C carbon-fibre legs for crews that need repeatable movement and fast resets in ENG, corporate, TV and live streaming. With a rated 10 kg payload and a counterbalance range matched to rigs around a 55 mm C.G., it suits compact cinema cameras, broadcast camcorders and mirrorless builds with matte box, wireless audio and a small on-board monitor.

The head’s feel comes from a multilayered metal drag structure with 3-step pan/tilt drag plus a free setting, and 5-step counterbalance plus free. In practice that means you can hold a slow speaker close-up, then jump to a quicker pan across a panel table without the head “breaking away”. The +90° / −70° tilt range covers high lecterns, balcony angles and low product shots, while the specified −40°C to +60°C operating window keeps behaviour stable for winter exteriors and hot stage lights.

Camera mounting is optimised for set pace. A sideload, one-touch quick-release sliding plate drops in from the side and locks immediately, then gives ±30 mm balance travel for fine trim—useful when swapping between a prime, a servo zoom or a teleprompter plate. The plate format stays compatible with Manfrotto and Sachtler systems, and the head accepts both 75 mm bowl levelling and a flat-base mount, so the same NH40 can move to a slider, skater dolly or compact hi-hat without changing your plate ecosystem.

On the support side, QL40C uses a top-positioned flip-lock workflow so height changes happen from standing position, and the included SP-1B telescopic floor spreader adds rigidity on glossy studio floors, temporary stages and OB platforms. Multiple 1/4" and 3/8" accessory ports on both head and legs keep receivers, timecode boxes or a small confidence monitor off the camera cage, reducing cable strain. Pack-down stays predictable with the supplied RC-30 carrying case.
