In installations where several Magewell encoders, decoders and IP conversion units are active at the same time, Magewell Control Hub Basic gives technical teams one place to supervise them without jumping between separate device pages. The software brings status monitoring, registration control and grouped device management into a browser-based environment that suits broadcast rooms, streaming studios, education networks, meeting spaces, event racks and distributed ProAV systems. This Basic edition supports up to 20 Magewell devices, which makes it relevant for operators who need a clear control layer for a professional installation, but do not need a larger enterprise-scale license.
Its practical value appears during daily technical operation. Magewell Control Hub Basic allows remote parameter changes, operational control and batch firmware updates across supported devices of the same model. That matters when the same encoder or decoder family is installed in several rooms, when remote contribution kits have to be checked before transmission, or when a streaming department wants one overview of multiple endpoints before a live session starts. For engineers, this reduces the time spent opening each device one by one. For integrators, it adds a cleaner service layer for long-term support of Magewell-based systems.
The Basic package also includes 5 stream conversion channels with up to 20 total conversion outputs. This is useful when one incoming feed must be delivered in different ways at the same time: to a decoder for monitoring, to a streaming destination, to a backup path, to a secondary control area or to another site in the network. Support for RTMP, SRT, RTSP and TS over UDP or RTP makes the software relevant for remote production, webcast contribution, AV-over-IP distribution, lecture capture, in-house broadcast transport and confidence monitoring. In these environments, Control Hub Basic can act as a central point between Magewell devices and multiple streaming or transport destinations.
For deployment, the platform runs as a Docker-based application and works with Linux, Windows and macOS. That gives media companies, broadcasters, live production suppliers, universities and corporate video teams a centralized Magewell management platform sized for real technical use: device control, service visibility and stream handling gathered in one interface, with enough scale for serious installations and without unnecessary license overhead.

Centralized Management Software for Devices and Streams
The successor to the former Magewell Cloud platform, the new Control Hub features an enhanced device management interface and expanded stream conversion capabilities.
One Management Platform for all Magewell IP Devices
The Control Hub software supports Magewell hardware products including Ultra Stream and Ultra Encode live media encoders; Pro Convert NDI® encoders and decoders; the Pro Convert Audio DX IP audio converter; and the USB Fusion capture and mixing device. Users can remotely configure device parameters, trigger operational functions and upgrade the firmware of multiple devices in batches.
Intuitive and Efficient Browser-based Interface
Control Hub’s intuitive, redesigned dashboard makes it easy for users to see the status of their devices and deployments at a glance. Video from remote Ultra Stream, Ultra Encode and USB Fusion units can be previewed directly in the Control Hub interface without needing to open the individual device's interface panel.
Easy Stream Conversion Capabilities
Control Hub can convert between multiple streaming protocols with an exceptionally flexible stream routing architecture. Users can easily define 'channels' that map an input to one or more output protocols and destinations. Control Hub converts between RTMP, SRT (in caller or listener mode), RTSP and transport streams (delivered over UDP or RTP).
Choose the Version That’s Right for You
Control Hub can be purchased in three full versions (Basic, Plus or Pro) to meet your specific needs for the number of managed devices, stream conversion channels, and stream conversion outputs. A Lite version is also available for customers requiring device management but who do not need stream conversion. Multiple Control Hub Lite licenses can be combined to manage a greater number of devices (in increments of 20).
