The Magewell Pro Capture DVI 4K is a single-channel PCIe capture card that brings DVI and HDMI sources into your workstation at resolutions up to 4096×2160. Built on a PCIe Gen2 x4 interface in a low-profile form factor, this card accepts both single-link and dual-link DVI-D signals — single-link handles up to 1080p, while dual-link reaches 4K at 30 frames per second. An optional DVI-D to HDMI 1.4 adapter opens the input to HDMI sources too, which suits mixed-format production environments.
Two onboard video processing pipelines deliver roughly 360 Mpixels/s of throughput each. Colour space conversion, de-interlacing, cropping, scaling, frame-rate adjustment, and aspect ratio correction all run on the FPGA engine, keeping CPU overhead low — something that counts in multi-card setups or alongside resource-heavy broadcast software. The card processes 10-bit colour depth across multiple colour spaces, extracts embedded audio up to 8-channel LPCM through the Magewell SDK, and reads timecode from Sony and Canon DSLRs. That timecode readout simplifies sync during multi-camera shoots in studios or on location.
The Magewell Pro Capture DVI 4K works natively with OBS Studio, vMix, Wirecast, XSplit, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and VLC, plus any application built on DirectShow or DirectKS under Windows, V4L2 and ALSA on Linux, or AVCaptureSession on macOS. Capture rates reach 144 fps at lower resolutions, and over 50 simultaneous capture streams can run from one input — handy for multi-viewer monitoring, parallel recording, and live streaming at the same time. A dedicated low-latency mode fits real-time broadcast, medical imaging visualization, and simulation rigs where frame delay is not tolerable.
From capturing a surgical microscope feed to ingesting DVI output from a broadcast graphics generator, recording high-resolution gameplay, or streaming a keynote from a laptop — the Pro Capture DVI 4K handles it without external converters. Multiple cards can sit in one machine with individual numbering, enabling scalable multi-channel ingest for control rooms, OB trucks, and post-production houses.

Firmware Upgrade

Cards can be upgraded without a system power shutdown (In most cases, even a reboot is not needed)
Safe upgrade. If power off or system break down occur when the firmware is being upgraded, it will automatically restore to the initial version. This function is only available for firmware version 1.21 and above.
