The Magewell Pro Capture Mini HDMI is a single-channel PCIe capture card built on a Mini PCIe Gen2 x1 interface, measuring just 30 × 51 mm. That tiny footprint makes it well-suited for embedded systems, compact workstations, and rack servers where full-height cards will not fit. Rather than a fixed HDMI connector, the board uses a JST 20-pin interface with an included HDMI adapter — keeping the profile low while accepting any HDMI 1.4 source up to 2048 × 2160 pixels.

Two on-board processing pipelines deliver around 180 megapixels per second each, covering deinterlacing, cropping, colour-space conversion, up/down scaling, and aspect-ratio correction without taxing the host CPU. Capture latency at 1080p60 in RGB or YUY2 stays below one millisecond — a number that matters during live camera monitoring or real-time graphic keying on a broadcast set. The card handles 8-, 10-, and 12-bit colour depths across RGB 4:4:4, YCbCr 4:4:4, and YCbCr 4:2:2 sampling, and an adaptive HDMI equaliser supports cable runs up to roughly 30 metres without external amplification.

Audio arrives as embedded LPCM over HDMI, carrying up to eight channels at 48 kHz through the Magewell SDK; standard APIs such as DirectShow, V4L2, and AVCaptureSession expose stereo by default. EDID data is fully customisable from the driver panel, which helps when a source camera or switcher demands a specific resolution handshake. Each input generates unlimited simultaneous capture streams, each with independent resolution, frame rate, and colour settings — so one card can feed an OBS preview, a vMix output, and a recording engine at once.

In daily work, the Magewell Pro Capture Mini HDMI slots into live-streaming stations, telehealth carts, digital signage players, lecture-capture appliances, and broadcast ingest racks. It runs under Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016–2022, Linux x86/x64/ARM, and macOS 10.9 onward, with three heat-sink variants to match different chassis airflow conditions.
