Magewell Pro Convert Audio DX is the kind of interface that solves a very specific ProAV problem: how to move audio cleanly between analog sources, software and IP networks without adding a pile of separate boxes. In one compact unit it can take a feed from mixers, playback systems, intercom paths or outboard processors and translate it into Dante, NDI or SRT, while also working in reverse for monitoring, distribution or return audio. For studios, flypacks, streaming sets and broadcast control rooms, that means one device can sit between legacy audio gear and modern networked production infrastructure with far less friction.

Its connectivity is built for practical integration. The unit provides 3.5 mm TRS unbalanced and 4.4 mm balanced analog input and output, plus USB Audio Class for direct capture or playout from a computer. It supports sample rates up to 96 kHz with 16- and 24-bit audio, while Dante transmission and reception reaches 8 channels / 24-bit. On the network side, the current Magewell specification also lists simultaneous handling of two 4-channel streams across protocols such as NDI, SRT, RTSP, RTMP(S) and transport stream modes, giving technical teams more options when routing audio between local systems and remote contribution paths.

A major strength of Pro Convert Audio DX is the internal audio matrix. Any supported input can be routed, split or mixed to the required destination, which is useful when a production needs program audio on Dante, confidence monitoring on analog out, and a separate USB feed for conferencing, recording or streaming software at the same time. That makes it relevant for podcast rooms, event stages, commentary booths, courtrooms, education spaces, hybrid worship, corporate webcast systems and television facilities where analog sources still need to coexist with packet-based transport.

For installation and day-to-day operation, Magewell adds features that matter in real rooms: PoE for simple deployment, PTP synchronization for Dante timing, remote control through WebUI and Control Hub, HTTP APIs for system integration, and a 1/4"-20 mounting point for rigging in carts or portable kits. The result is not just an audio converter, but a practical bridge for engineers who need to connect mixers, DSPs, laptops and IP production systems with predictable behaviour and broadcast-minded control.
