Where many decoders simply output a picture, Magewell Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI 4K solves a more practical task: it takes an NDI to HDMI 4K feed from an IP production environment and places it on a monitor, projector, multiview screen or confidence display in a format the destination device can actually accept. It decodes Full NDI as well as NDI|HX, NDI|HX2 and NDI|HX3, then delivers up to 4096x2160 at 60 fps over HDMI with embedded multichannel audio. For control rooms, event stages, hybrid lecture spaces and broadcast racks, that means fewer format surprises when the signal leaves the network and returns to a baseband display chain.
The unit automatically follows the EDID of the connected screen, which is especially useful when one decoder may be moved between UHD displays, production monitors and presentation systems. HDMI output supports up to 4K60 4:4:4 8-bit, while audio can be carried as 8-channel, 96 kHz, 16-bit. Magewell also adds decoding support beyond NDI, including RTSP, HTTP, HLS, RTMP Pull/Push and MPEG-TS over UDP, SRT or RTP. This widens its role from pure NDI monitoring to IP video decoder duties in streaming, digital signage, contribution links and fixed AV installations.
From an operational standpoint, the decoder fits well into professional environments that need remote access and predictable setup. It can be managed through WebUI, Control Hub and HTTP API, with live device status, decoding parameters, deinterlacing, OSD behaviour, alpha blending, audio gain, sample rate and channel mapping available for adjustment. Gigabit Ethernet with PoE reduces local power dependency, while USB connectivity supports power and network access via USB RNDIS/ECM. A tally indicator for preview/program status is also valuable when the box is used near studio monitors or on set.

Pro Convert decoders support both dedicated video-over-IP and universal streaming protocols including NDI®, SRT (Secure Reliable Transport), RTMP, RTSP, RTP, UDP, HTTP and HLS, enabling high-quality conversion of full NDI, NDI|HX, H.264 (AVC) or H.265 (HEVC) streams into high-quality HDMI or SDI outputs.
