Magewell USB Capture HDMI 4K Pro is an external capture interface for teams that need to bring a clean HDMI source into software without adding a PCIe card or separate power supply. On a host with USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, it captures up to 4096x2160 at 60 fps with 4:4:4 chroma fidelity, which is relevant when the source carries graphics, presentation text, camera menus or fine coloured detail. The integrated HDMI loop-through keeps the same signal available for a confidence monitor, projector or local technical screen.

The unit accepts HDMI 2.0 with embedded audio, adds a 3.5 mm mic input and provides headphone output for audio extraction or monitoring. FPGA-based processing handles cropping, up/down scaling, de-interlacing, aspect-ratio conversion, frame-rate conversion, flip and mirror. It can also reach very high frame rates in supported lower-resolution modes, up to 240 fps depending on host bandwidth and operating system. Custom EDID and automatic input detection help stabilise setup in flypacks, lecture capture systems, control rooms and mobile streaming kits under time pressure.

Magewell USB Capture HDMI 4K Pro works driver-free with Windows, Linux, macOS and ChromeOS, and integrates with UVC software such as OBS Studio, VLC, Teams, Zoom Rooms, XSplit, QuickTime Player, GStreamer and other DirectShow, V4L2 or AVCaptureSession applications. The MWCapture SDK adds signal status access, capture control and real-time A/V handling, including selected 10-bit HDR implementations through software integration.
