Roland VC-1-SH is a precise SDI to HDMI converter for professional monitoring and signal bridging across live production, broadcast control rooms and streaming rigs. It preserves native frame rate and range up to 1080p60 while maintaining chroma accuracy. A built-in re-clocker stabilises long SDI runs and supports 3G-SDI Level A and Level B for wide camera and router compatibility.
Connectivity is comprehensive: 3G/HD/SD-SDI input with SDI loop-thru, HDMI output for cost-efficient displays, and selectable audio paths. Embed balanced analog (L/R on 1/4-inch TRS) or AES3 digital audio into the outgoing video, or de-embed program audio to balanced TRS for console or monitor feeds. The unit handles up to Linear PCM 16-channel on SDI and up to 8-channel on HDMI. Format support covers SMPTE 424M/425M-AB, 292M, 259M-C and CEA-861 video timings from 1080p/60 to SD interlace.
Signal integrity features go beyond conversion. HDCP is passed on HDMI where permitted, with SDI outputs kept non-HDCP as required in professional chains. USB 2.0 provides access to the VC-1 RCS application on macOS/Windows for precise channel mapping and control. Typical field use includes re-clocking SDI lines in OB vans and flypacks; even 200 ft (≈61 m) SDI cable segments remain stable when upstream gear meets spec. Power draws only 8 W from a 9 V DC supply, and operational range is 0–40 °C for dependable rack or tabletop use.
