The SmallHD Cine 18 4K High-Bright Monitor is engineered for professionals demanding precise image fidelity in dynamic production environments. Its 18.4-inch (46.7 cm) edge-lit LCD panel delivers 3840 x 2160 resolution, ensuring sharp visuals with 1100 nits brightness for reliable daylight viewing. The monitor supports 10-bit color depth (8+2 FRC), covering 100% Rec. 709 and 98% DCI-P3 color gamuts, facilitating accurate color grading and monitoring.

Constructed with a lightweight aluminum unibody chassis, the Cine 18 is both robust and portable, weighing approximately 5.4 kg. Its 1300:1 contrast ratio and 178° viewing angle provide consistent image quality across various viewing positions. The monitor incorporates SmallHD’s PageOS 5, offering tools like waveform, vectorscope, false color, and 3D LUT support, enhancing on-set monitoring capabilities.

Connectivity options include four 12G-SDI inputs and outputs, one HDMI 2.0 input and output, and an SD card slotfor LUT uploads. Power can be supplied via a 4-pin XLR (12–34V DC) or through hot-swappable dual battery plates(V-Mount or Gold Mount, sold separately). Additional features encompass two 2-pin LEMO 12V outputs, USB-A and USB-C ports, and RJ45 Ethernet and GPI ports for expanded control and integration.

Connect your 4K monitor via ethernet to a computer with a calibration probe running Portrait Displays® Calman®, and a calibration LUT will be uploaded directly into your monitor when finished.

EL Zone
The stop-based exposure map tool—developed in collaboration with legendary cinematographer, Ed Lachman, ASC—that works like a virtual spot meter, replacing IRE exposure values with stops. Sensor data from the camera provides a reference point, and a false color represents each stop above and below 18% gray, allowing for easier, more intuitive on-set communication.

Livegrade Integration

QD-LED Edge-Lit LCD Panel Technology
The LEDs SmallHD sources for Cine Series panels have the highest tolerance for color uniformity.
