The VELVET Start 2 is a professional bi-color LED soft panel for studio, broadcast and streaming where stable output and silence are critical. With a 100W integrated AC power supply it still delivers substantial soft illumination for news sets, magazine shows, virtual stages and corporate studios. The dustproof IP41 housing, fanless passive cooling and low-carbon aluminium body provide a robust fixture for permanent grids, OB vehicles and flypack systems.
Colour performance is driven by VELVET LED technology with a variable 3000–6000K range in 100K steps and TLCI/CRI 96 for consistent skin tones across multi-camera workflows. The Start 2 reaches 4320 lux at 1 m at 5600K with a 100° beam, providing broad, even coverage for key, fill or backlight on talk shows, e-sports and greenscreen studios. Flicker-free dimming from 0–100% with a 2000 fps output frequency supports high-frame-rate capture for sports spots, commercials and slow-motion replays without exposure artefacts.
Local control on the VELVET Start 2 uses shock-resistant keys and a clear display for fast intensity and CCT adjustments during live rundowns. Integrated DMX/RDM with 5-pin XLR in and out connectors patches the panel into studio networks, enables remote addressing and supports master-slave chaining for multi-fixture soft banks above news desks or audience areas. Stable drive electronics keep output and colour consistent across long sessions, ideal for 24/7 news channels, continuous streaming stages and conference centre studios.
The panel’s on-board PSU with powerCON TRUE1 input simplifies cabling on lighting grids, mobile studio carts and compact broadcast kits. Optional accessories such as yokes, pole-operated mounts, SnapBag and SnapGrid softboxes, barndoors and road cases allow precise beam shaping and logistics for rental fleets or system integrators.
