Operating a multi-camera PTZ setup during a live broadcast, a church service, or a corporate conference demands precision — and the AVMATRIX PKC3000 delivers exactly that. This PTZ camera joystick controller bridges IP and serial camera ecosystems by supporting VISCA, VISCA Over IP, VISCA-SONY, ONVIF, and Pelco P/D protocols simultaneously. Whether your facility runs cameras over RS-422, RS-485, RS-232, or a networked RJ45 IP connection, a single PKC3000 handles them all — up to 255 cameras on one network.
At the heart of the unit sits a 4D joystick that governs pan, tilt, zoom, and focus with variable-speed response, giving operators a proportional feel during camera movements. A dedicated rocker switch and seesaw lever provide additional zoom control that many operators prefer during slow, cinematic pushes or fast snap zooms on live sports coverage. Five rotation knobs offer direct adjustment of iris, shutter speed, white balance, exposure compensation, and focus — no menu diving required.
Six camera shortcut keys let operators switch between feeds instantly, while six user-assignable function keys can be mapped to frequently used commands. The PKC3000 stores up to 255 preset positions, allowing rapid recall of pre-programmed camera angles — a significant time-saver during multi-camera productions where repeatable framing matters. A 2.2-inch LCD displays status information, and multi-colour key illumination provides clear visual feedback about which camera is active.
The AVMATRIX PKC3000 automatically scans the network for available IP PTZ cameras and simplifies address assignment, speeding up installation in temporary broadcast setups or touring productions. A tally GPIO output via a 9-pin connector signals which camera is currently live — practical when integrating with a video switcher. Powered by PoE or DC 12 V at just 5 W, the controller keeps cable runs simple. Its metal housing withstands on-location demands, and an operating range of −20 °C to 60 °C ensures reliability in outdoor broadcast environments, unheated venues, and climate-controlled studios. Configurable serial baud rates from 2 400 to 38 400 bps guarantee compatibility with virtually every PTZ camera on the market.
