AVMATRIX PKC3500 is a compact PTZ camera controller for control rooms, OB vans and streaming studios where one operator must steer multiple cameras with repeatable results. The 5-inch colour touchscreen presents camera status and menu layers clearly, and supports on-panel monitoring through RTSP / ONVIF stream decoding—useful when the controller sits away from the multiviewer or the cameras live on a separate VLAN.
Camera handling centres on a 4D joystick (pan/tilt plus push/rotate functions) combined with a T-bar zoom for consistent zoom ramps. Dedicated rotary controls map directly to iris, shutter, gain, white balance, focus and exposure parameters, enabling fast shading changes during live worship, conferences, sports commentary, lecture capture or remote guest interviews. Seven user-assignable keys and illuminated buttons keep recalls and camera selection tactile in low-light environments.
Networking and serial control are available simultaneously. Over IP the PKC3500 manages up to 255 IP cameras, supports 255 camera addresses and stores up to 255 presets, with automatic IP address assignment and rapid discovery on the same subnet. Protocol support includes VISCA over IP and ONVIF via a Gigabit RJ45 interface with PoE/PoE+ (IEEE 802.3af/at). For legacy chains the unit provides RS-232 plus RS-422/RS-485 using VISCA, Pelco-D and Pelco-P, with selectable baud rates from 2400 to 115200 bps; a USB 2.0 port handles firmware maintenance.
For automation, track recording and playback captures a pan/tilt/zoom path and replays it as a loop—handy for product demos, house-of-worship wide shots or repeating audience cutaways. A dedicated Tally/GPIO port enables camera-follow and switcher synchronisation, simplifying tally-driven workflows. Power is available via PoE or 7–24 V DC, keeping consumption under 8 W and operating stability from -20°C to 60°C for fly-packs and rack builds.
