Production teams that juggle simultaneous feeds, broadcast graphics and tight rundowns need a remote head that drops into a control room without...
Production houses that have grown past the single-operator stage need a desk that scales with the camera count without complicating the gallery. The Canon RC-IP300 answers that brief: a hardware PTZ controller built around a 3.5-inch touchscreen, a joystick, a zoom rocker, a focus dial and a bank of mechanical knobs, giving studios one point of command for fleets reaching up to 200 cameras pushed over IP. Subject selection happens on the panel, while pan, tilt, zoom, focus, iris and their independent speed values stay under physical controls — the tactile response a live gallery still demands.
Compatibility runs across the full Canon remote-camera lineup: CR-N700, CR-N500, CR-N400, CR-N350, CR-N300, CR-N100, plus the CR-X500 and CR-X300 outdoor heads. The RC-IP300 also drives Cinema EOS bodies such as the EOS C400, C500 Mark II, C300 Mark III, C70, C80 and C50, alongside the XF605 camcorder. For each connected camera, up to 100 presets can be stored and recalled instantly, which smooths the rehearsal-to-broadcast handover during corporate AGMs, sports captures, theatre productions and conference streaming.
The rear panel sticks to IP-first broadcast logic. One RJ45 carries LAN and IP camera control, a second RJ45 handles RS-422, and a dedicated RJ45 video input feeds the on-board mosaic in 2x2 or 3x3 layouts, so a single operator can preview up to nine live camera feeds on the 3.5-inch touchscreen without a separate monitor wall. PoE keeps cabling tidy in fixed installations, the supplied 12 V adapter handles rack and OB-van scenarios, a DE-9 GPIO port routes tally to the switcher, and a USB-A connector covers configuration. Canon XC protocol over IP plus RS-422 support let the desk drop into existing infrastructures without protocol rewrites.
For studios planning around Canon's Multi-Camera Orchestration (MCO) software, the RC-IP300 is the natural hardware anchor: it pairs proven Canon reliability with PTZ Auto Tracking support, twelve user-assignable buttons, three hard buttons and four function keys for menu navigation. The result is a console rental crews and in-house production managers can deploy on tight schedules, with servicing, parts and protocol support backed by Canon's professional ecosystem.
