Four SDI feeds on one capture card can simplify a dense ingest station. AVMATRIX VC41 places 4-channel SDI capture on a PCIe 2.0 x4 board, with four independent SD/HD/3G-SDI inputs ready for cameras, vision mixers, replay outputs or other BNC sources. Each channel can be captured up to 1080p60 with bit rates up to 200 Mb/s, so a compact studio PC can take in several program lines at once for live production, recording or streaming. In a church control room, a school media lab or a small sports venue, that means fewer external boxes and fewer points of failure between the source and the software.
The card accepts SDI signals in YCbCr 4:4:4 and 4:2:2, then captures in YUY2 uncompressed, which matters in graphics-heavy productions, chroma-critical feeds and archive recording where compression artefacts are unwelcome. It also supports embedded SDI audio capture on all four inputs, recorded as 16-bit PCM at 48 kHz. Hardware 1080i de-interlacing and a 3D noise-reduction algorithm help with interlaced legacy cameras or noisier contribution feeds, while portrait capture up to 1080 × 1920 makes sense for mobile-first clips, vertical ad delivery and social output prepared from the same machine.
Software support is broad enough for mixed broadcast and streaming environments: OBS, vMix, XSplit, VLC, VirtualDub, Wirecast and other DirectShow, V4L2 or AVCaptureSession-based applications are supported, with Windows 7 or newer and Linux 18.04 or newer. That gives the AVMATRIX VC41 SDI Video Capture Card room in lecture capture systems, virtual studios, game streaming rigs, live sports setups and healthcare presentation rooms where operators need several SDI feeds visible inside one workstation instead of scattered across separate USB devices.
