BirdDog O4 Grey is an outdoor PTZ camera for permanent deployment where uptime, reach and image integrity are non-negotiable. The die-cast aluminium chassis with IP66 sealing, integrated heater and hydrophobic front glass keeps optics clear from –40 °C to +60 °C. A 1/1.8″ 8.4 MP CMOS sensor captures 4K60 with high dynamic range, while the 30× optical zoom (up to 60× in HD) and a precision 500 m IR laser deliver long-range visibility day or night. Hidden cabling inside a sealed undercarriage and marine-grade coatings maintain performance in rain, dust and spray.
Imaging control includes WDR/HDR, colour matrix and gamma, f/1.35–4.6 aperture, 2D/3D noise reduction and >50 dB SNR for clean low-light capture. The lens spans 6.9–215 mm with horizontal/vertical/diagonal angles of 60–2° / 34–1.1° / 67–2.3°. AF and manual focus are selectable; exposure presets (Auto, Shutter, Iris, Brightness) and flicker reduction suit 50/60 Hz lighting. Mechanically, travel is ±170° pan and −30° to +90° tilt with 0.05–90°/s speed, 255 presets and FreeD output over UDP and embedded in NDI for AR/VR workflows.
Connectivity spans 12G-SDI, and SFP+ for fibre, plus Gigabit RJ-45 with PoE++. Stream simultaneously in Full NDI and NDI|HX3, or output SRT, RTMP and RTSP in parallel for contribution. Dante AV-H can be unlocked via Dante Activator. Audio I/O is via 6.35 mm TRS (unbalanced). Control protocols include NDI and VISCA-IP, plus REST API 2.0, KBD support and BirdUI.
