Canon RC-IP100 PTZ Controller

Centralised, hands-on command of a multi-camera PTZ rig becomes far less stressful once a dedicated console handles the heavy lifting. The Canon...
Inside the Canon CR-N500 Black PTZ Camera sits a 1.0-type single-plate CMOS sensor paired with the DIGIC DV6 image processor, a combination that handles 4K UHD acquisition at 29.97p with the kind of tonal nuance broadcast operators expect from a studio chain. Larger photosites pull a cleaner signal out of dim venues, with minimum illumination dropping to roughly 1.5 lux — so evening corporate keynotes, theatre stages or back-of-room conference coverage no longer demand extra lighting rigs. Wide DR and Canon Log 3 give colourists genuine HDR latitude on tight grading days.
The integrated optic carries a 15x optical zoom (with 20x digital extension), spanning a 35 mm-equivalent range of roughly 25.5 to 382.5 mm. That focal reach turns a single ceiling-mounted body into close-up presenter coverage and reverse-wide audience shots — a meaningful saving for two- and three-camera live shows. Dual Pixel CMOS AF tracks faces and stays locked through pans and zooms, while the 9-bladed iris, a motorised built-in ND filter (1/4, 1/16, 1/64) and a gain range from -6 dB to +33 dB give engineers shot-to-shot exposure control.
Signal routing is where the Canon CR-N500 earns its place in IP-first studios. Outputs cover 3G-SDI, HDMI, NDI|HX over RJ45 and direct streaming via RTMP/RTMPS, RTSP/RTP, SRT and FreeD, plus Canon's XC protocol for AR-driven productions. A single PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) cable carries video, control, tally and power — the simplification multi-camera houses need across long Cat6 runs between stage and gallery. Gen-lock via a dedicated BNC keeps the body frame-locked to a master clock, and up to 100 storable presets repeat shot positions across rehearsal and live show.
Audio matches the rest of the build: two balanced XLR inputs, a 3.5 mm plug-in-power mini-jack and embedded audio across SDI, HDMI and NDI streams. Pan covers ±170° at speeds up to 100°/sec for silent, repeatable moves during sports relay, hybrid conferences, esports productions or regional news. Recent firmware activates the RA-AT001 Auto Tracking application (Lite included; full-feature license sold separately), turning the Canon CR-N500 Black PTZ Camera into a hands-free presenter follower — practical reinforcement for B2B studios that need consistent output with smaller crews.

Powerful 4K imagery
The 1.0-type CMOS Sensor and DIGIC DV6 processor work in unison to deliver exceptional 4K UHD/30p image quality as well as upscaled Full HD/60p images thanks to over sampled HD processing.
Smooth and precise control
The CR-N500 is equipped with a high-precision drive mechanism enabling fine adjustments of the Pan and Tilt movement and speed ensuring the perfect shot. Compatible with the RC-IP1000, the RC-SK5, the RC-IP100 controller and Remote Camera Control Application controllers, the CR-N500 is also compatible with selected third-party controllers.
Stabilised 15x Optical Zoom to get closer
Canon’s advanced 4K optics make sure greater detail is captured, and flexibility assured, with a 15x optical zoom (25.5-382.5mm 35mm equivalent), providing a wide angle to telephoto field of view. Canon’s advanced four-axis image stabilisation ensures high quality image capture.
IP Streaming and Control to transform your production
A comprehensive range of IP control and streaming protocols up to 4K UHD 30p (such as NDI|HX, RTMP, RTP/RTSP, RTMPS, SRT, FreeD and Canon’s XC Protocol) are included, making the CR-N500 an ideal solution for new or existing systems.
Excellent imagery in low light
The CR-N500 produces high quality imagery with low noise, even with a minimum illumination of 1.5 lux. The large 1.0-type CMOS sensor and the DIGIC DV6 processor ensure the image quality retains its integrity even in the most challenging of lighting conditions.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF keeps it sharp
The CR-N500 features Canon’s renowned Dual Pixel CMOS Auto Focus system which provides extremely quick and accurate focus via multiple modes.
Extensive Connectors for ease of use
The CR-N500 features a host of connections to ensure the ultimate flexibility, including a 3G-SDI video output, full-sized HDMI port (supporting 4K UHD 30p at 4:2:2 10-bit), professional XLR audio inputs, as well as a PoE+ LAN port to allow for easy system integration.
HDR Imagery, with versatile image quality adjustments
Achieve stunning HDR imagery with Canon Log 3 and Wide Dynamic Range Support. Both technologies ensure the best HDR imagery can be achieved for applications where postproduction or a quick turnaround is required. The in-built image adjustment settings also ensure flexible and bespoke imagery to colour match with other cameras.
Upgrade your content with a new firmware update available August 2025
Download the latest firmware and take advantage of newly added Auto Tracking App RA-AT001* features. Auto Framing features include Multi-Person Framing, that detects and includes multiple people in the frame, while Face Direction Framing and Sit/Stand Framing deliver natural composition for a single person in frame. Additionally, RTMP/SRT auto reconnection and improved camera control from the iOS app is now included.
*Free Auto Tracking App RA-AT001(Lite) available via FW, 1.1.0 or later. A paid license is necessary for full functionality of auto tracking.
