Bolin EG40F FAST HEVC 4K60 IP Video Decoder targets broadcast, live production and ProAV workflows moving contribution over IP networks. Its hardware FPGA HEVC/H.264 decoder handles H.265/HEVC and H.264/AVC streams up to UHD 4K 60 fps, outputting baseband video simultaneously over HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI with embedded audio. Colour formats up to 4:2:2 12-bit and support for full broadcast frame rates from 23.98 to 60 Hz keep the EG40F aligned with studio and OB truck pipelines.
Low end-to-end latency is central to the EG40F concept. Paired with a Bolin FAST HEVC camera or encoder, the decoder processes 4K60 with latency below two frames, and around 15 ms at 1080p60, while typical bitrates remain in the 20–50 Mb/s range for 4K and 10–25 Mb/s for Full HD. This makes the unit a strong fit for IMAG in venues, live sports switching, remote galleries, e-sports arenas and time-critical interactive events where camera feeds must stay in tight sync with on-site audio and displays.
A built-in scaler offers up- and down-conversion to match anything from 720p to 2160p, allowing a single EG40F to drive mixed infrastructure such as 12G-SDI routers, 3G-SDI monitors and 4K projectors. Network ingest covers RTP, RTSP, MPEG-TS over UDP or RTP, SRT and HTTP, with IGMP for multicast distribution. On the control side, the decoder supports VISCA over IP and RS-422 for PTZ camera control, on-screen character generation for source labelling, plus web UI and API management for integration into broadcast control systems.
For installation, the EG40F connects over 1 Gigabit Ethernet with PoE+ support or via the 12 VDC input, typically drawing around 13 W. Embedded and analogue line-level audio, intercom capability with the front-end device, NDAA compliance and a robust metal housing make this decoder a compact hub for studio racks, command centres and corporate video networks standardising on HEVC contribution with 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 monitoring.
